The Cannery Kitchen & Social at Hollis Hotel

Probably one of worst breakfast experience I have ever had. Ordered the Cannery breakfast that took almost 40 minutes to come to the table. Cut into my sausages and they were half raw and cold. The server was less than helpful and did not fix the issue or compensate for the issue. I had to waive him over to have my coffee refilled as he did not check in with us once. My wife ordered the Belgian waffle that was suppose to come with berries on it. It came out with 2 or 3 blueberry as and a half a strawberry on it. Definitely not very impressive will not be back.

I am a regular at The Cannery and I look forward to going as much as possible. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is fantastic and Asbin always makes us smile and he is always accommodating and welcoming. I wish I could give this restaurant 100 stars. We're staying here for over a week while visiting Halifax. We've had their breakfast a few times now and I particularly like the oatmeal, pancakes and toast. The happy hour offering is great too. Their seafood chowder had scallops, mussels and shrimp - really delicious! Margherita flatbread was on point too.

I would love to give it a higher review but I had reservations for 10 got there at 9:55 was ignored until 10:10 until I walked over then waited until 11:30 to eat..yes I should of just left. We were apologized to and given a 20%discount which was meh ok. Food was excellent though. Clearly more staff is needed here.

Tasty eggs Benny.

We were in town for a conference and did a quick Google search and found this place for breakfast.

Our conference was at the Nova Center so it was a quick walk away

I got the pancakes with two scrambled eggs on the side and the food was amazing.

Highly recommended if you're in town and looking for a good breakfast

I visited the Cannery Restaurant after seeing their Instagram promotions and was impressed. The seafood linguine I had was delicious and perfectly cooked. The bartender, Asbin, made my experience stand out with his expertise—he made an excellent shot called Brain Hemorrhage and a cocktail with a unique bubble effect. His friendly service and skillful mixing really enhanced the visit. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the overall experience was top-notch. I’ll definitely be returning.

Our server greated us once we entered and she mentioned the happy hour and taco specials. We ordered the crab dip and nachos for apps, seafood linguine, Cobb salad and seafood chowder.. all where spot on. We where staying at the Hollis Doubletree and didn't want to venture to far for dinner. This was a great choice and our server, was very friendly and welcoming

Stayed at the Hollis and figured we would have breakfast here. Service was so so. As a server myself, felt the service was lacking. Food was cold when we got our breakfast, one of my kid asked for over easy eggs and she got over hard. Also waited over 45min for food when there was only 4 tables in restaurant. Would not recommend for breakfast.

Little disappointed in this restaurant for advertising multiple vegan options but not actually having much. Highly recommend for vegetarians, would recommend vegan friends check out somewhere else.

We ordered the vegan burger - but it did not include the bun, cheese, or mayo because they did not have vegan friendly options. Server was great and added white bread slices to my sandwich, but overall was disappointed in the options.

free breakfast came with hotel stay (not all plans come with breakfast). decent selection as I ordered from the menu not the hot plate varieties.

only catch: the restaurant opened relatively late which did not work with business people who needed to head out early in the morning. I missed one of the free breakfasts because of that.

1. Wait time too long for waiting to get sit down when there’s no one in line and there were available tables
2. Wait time too long for getting food, and some food are sold out if you go a bit later.
3. Some parts of Scrambled eggs are tooo salty, the salt and eggs are not mixed well.
4. Ordered to switch biscuit with toasts, but the food still come with biscuit. AND the server added extra money for ordering toasts.
5. Fried potato hash are too dry
6. Expectation was high because photos look pretty nice. But the taste is not good

Actually good! And not just for a hotel restaurant. The breakfast options were creative, unexpected, and delicious with attractive presentation and a very reasonable price. Even the coffee was well made. Staff were efficient and kind. I'm very impressed.

We had lunch here on our way to the water. The staff were helpful and the food was adequate. Unfortunately, we were often interrupted during our meal by the various mice that were running around the dining room - the video below is unfortunately only one of many instances throughout the meal. While we are aware that this may be common in a coast side town, it was quite disconcerting to be eating and then have a mouse run by your feet
