The breakfast at the Cannery was a pleasant surprise. Serena was our server and she was just perfect at her job as she seemed to anticipate our needs and wants. Right to the end of our breakfast she was there for us and we shared a few chuckles along the way. It is the warmth of the staff that I will remember more than the food however the food was perfection as well. The location in downtown Halifax is great. Parking however, is a bit of a nightmare as with all restaurants downtown. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fine. We arrived at 5:15 PM and left at 6:45 PM and not a single additional customer came in. And that was a Friday evening! The service was fine, everything re: the atmosphere was good. Except, the food is really not great. I am not a picky person at all. The cauliflower bites were cold. And they’re just deep-fried cauliflower....
Awesome restaurant with interesting menu. I had the 4 cheese pasta and had no regrets at all - I could have drink a glass full of that sauce.
Our waitress was very kind and took the time to discuss with us and it made us feel very welcome. A very nice experience overall. The restaurant looks a little impersonal, but that was of no consequence.
