Went for a late lunch today and sat on the patio. Service was below par especially having to wait undue length of time to get a second round of drinks and then over a twenty minute wait for the bill once requested. I can recall when this used to be an A+ place with great service.
Staff very rude, as soon as my grandma was through with the wheelchair they were rude and hateful towards us the staff had no regard for us as customers' they were frequently looking at us as though we didn't belong

Has anyone else had their gift certificate refused at The Lower Deck? They claimed that the are under new ownership and they refused to honour it. Trying to find out if there are enough of these gift certificates out there, to file a class action or small claims suite.
Wonderful experience… visited multiple times during our stay in Halifax… enjoyed the ghost stories in the afternoon… a quick bite on the run and of course the live music… Signal Hill was amazing

Did not have anything to eat here, just A couple of tasty beverages! Great local music and an eclectic mix of locals, regulars, and tourists. This place is a gem to visit along the Halifax Waterfront and Historic Properties area.

I have been going to the Lower Deck for years and never a bad experience ever but yesterday matinee with the servicers was a gong show. I had at least 3 servicers and when I asked for bill he had no idea what I actually drank. I had to tell him and then when I paid for my drinks no paper in the machine to even give me a receipt and did not even offer to put a new roll in the machine very poor service. And to even get someone attention to pay my bill was a nightmare. Hate to say it but yesterday was bad. Lesson learnt I will pay for my drinks as I get them or go to the bar and then I can leave when I want. I know how busy it can get and I been there when it has been wall to wall people and service has been great. Not sure what happened yesterday but the bar or servicers were definitely not on their game.

Scallops had too much breading and dry, Seafood chowder was cold, wings were good. . Lovely place to sit but the new owners need to pay attention to the poor food. Service was good

Grungy establishment, charging people cover if they are there from 6pm on to watch some shitty cover band.

My partner and I heard great stuff about this bar and we were very excited to have dinner and drinks during our visit but couldn't get in because we have Albertan provincial IDs. The bouncer turned us away and stated that it was explicitly because our IDs are from Alberta. Very disheartening and disappointing.

The quintessential drinking spot in Halifax, The Lower Deck is perfectly located along the Halifax Harbour. Great beer, live entertainment and local food fare a definite spot to hit up in Halifax.
Highly Recommended!

Food and service were very standard pub level. Nothing wrong with that. Just very average. The atmosphere was great. We went to see live music. The place was hopping. The entertainment was great

The young man serving our drinks was rude and forgetful. Our waitress for food was great. Food was average at best. The atmosphere can't be beat.

Unfortunately, it seems that it must have been an off night when we visited during our week in Halifax. The only place we visited that charged a cover to get in. Once inside and went to the bar I was informed that rare drinks like gin & tonics or margaritas weren't possible as they were out of gin and tequila. Vodka and Rum were the only options available. A first (and last) for me. Staff were nice enough and the live band helped.
Came for a quick bite while also jamming out to Signal Hill. Worth a visit for anyone visiting Halifax and enjoys live music. A mix of ages in the crowd which is also a welcoming experience!
