OMG-The food was amazing. Being married into an East Coast family, boiled dinner was always in rotation for Sunday supper. This dinner from Narrows was top notch and exceeded all expectations. Also, don’t tell my father in law, but their mustard pickles are the best I’ve ever had, and paired with the brown sugar bread…YUMMY!! The service and atmosphere rounded out the place to deserve more than 5-stars. Definitely a restaurant to visit again to explore more of their menu. With no reservations available, we did have to wait a bit. However, definitely worth the short wait (under an hour).

What’s next…..trying to figure out their mustard pickle recipe 😉

This place is expensive for a reason. Service, food, and atmosphere are top-notch, so I don't mind paying the extra dollars for the quality!

Perfect spot for a pint and a game of cribbage. Such a cool way to repurpose and reimagine a classic Halifax home.

I am so glad a place like this exists! My wife and I have gone twice now and really enjoyed ourselves. The cask beer is great, top notch curated liquor shelf, and of course the food & dessert is great. Excellent service, and the cozy fireplace and trivia & card games are a nice touch.

Very nice place immersed in a typical local house, BEAUTIFUL. Tastefully furnished. Very good sandwiches, perhaps only slightly small, prices in the high medium range

Great service and a great atmosphere. My main point that I want to convey is the food of which I had the fish and chips. I am rating this as my top 1#1 fish and chips meal in the Maritimes. From the large portion, crispy home cut fries to the thinly battered and well cooked fish, this meal is fantastic.

This is a fantastic pub with an amazing warm environment. One of our new favourite hangouts in the city! Everything we’ve had on the menu has been delicious. If you’re going to want to eat, it can be a very busy restaurant so plan accordingly. Wonderful, friendly staff and really nice patrons.

They were so busy we couldn’t get a table. This speaks to the overwhelming popularity of this fantastic restaurant. I’m almost sad so many people have found out about it, making it so busy!

A bit of special. The cozy vibes are off the charts, the food is amazing, and you just feel good when you're there. The only drawback is people know how great it is, so you might have to wait a while if you show up during peak hours - but it's still worth it.

an incredible experience from start to finish—the hype is real!! we waited about an hour or so with a large group, but the host was super lovely and brought us drinks while we hung out. the lobby is cozy and dimly lit, which made the wait feel nice. once we got seated, the service was consistently great, the food was classic nova scotian cuisine, and the ambiance with live music was perfect. it was a splurge for me, but 100% worth it. can't recommend it enough.

My wife loves boiled dinner and neighbours have told us The Narrows had a very good offering. We had dinner on the 15th of February and we both had this dish. It lived up to its reputation. It was delicious, nice amount of meat, vegetables and lovely cabbage. So very tasty. The bread that came with it was unbelievably tasty. We had the liver pate as an appetiser and that was great also, the toast points were perfect. Next time I will try to get the pate at room temperature, it is much tastier that way. Dessert was also very good. Wait staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
