Food and cocktail are just next level. You won't be getting the same old thing here. Menu and drinks change monthly and there is an excellent selection of non-alcoholic cocktails

Always outstanding, the Ostrich Club has levelled up with a new chef focusing on hyper seasonal, hyper local dishes — everything we ate was plate-lickingly good. The cocktail program is also phenomenal, and love the inclusion of creative no ABV options that don't feel like an afterthought!

Amazing ambiance, incredibly creative food, attentive service, perfect cocktails. We had a very enjoyable evening!

Grateful for a fantastic menu with plenty of options for someone with food allergies. The food was all incredible, service was a little slow but otherwise attentive, excellent wine and excellent recommendations.

Good was amazing and interesting. Definitely recommending ordering a few plates to share- you'll want to try the variety!

Ostrich Club has acquired one of the best chefs in Halifax and it shows! The menu is incredibly thoughtful and the staff know just what to pair to make the most of your experience. The tartar is a standout dish with a complexity of flavours that will leave you wanting to order another before you finish the first! Do yourself a favour and dine here!

I’ve eaten here twice and both experiences were absolutely incredible. The dishes are so beautifully and thoughtfully composed. Ingredients are second to none. The kitchen’s attention to detail, execution, timing of courses and overall quality is truly impressive and so appreciated. Service has been delightful. Both servers were the same both times and just as kind, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu, drinks, wine and describe the dishes perfectly every time. Halifax is lucky to have this incredible gem of a restaurant. The Ostrich Club would stand up beside some of the best restaurants in every major Canadian city. It’s a privilege and a pleasure to enjoy a meal here.

We again had another great meal and an enjoyable night out with friends. The cocktails and wine choices were spot on and everything we selected from their menu (a lot of new choices since we were last there) were all delicious. This is our go-to place in Halifax for a great evening out for dinner when catching up with another couple.

Another great dinner. Menu change with a new chef who has many new dishes - all were excellent. Cocktails were on point as usual - the OC is making fetch happen!

The Schitt’s Creek Themed drinks are incredible! What a delight! The Rose Apothecary may be the best cocky I’ve ever had!

The Ostrich Club continues to prove why it’s one of our favourite spots in the city. As people who travel (and eat) with intention — from tucked-away wine bars in Europe to Michelin-starred tasting menus — this place still manages to surprise and delight in all the right ways. This cozy little spot in the North End (bonus: it’s walkable for us!) toes the line between sexy cocktail bar and elevated neighbourhood restaurant… and nails it.

We popped in for what was supposed to be “just a drink” (LOL, classic us) and ended up swooning over Old Fashioneds crafted by Lindsay (the bar magician), a perfect wine pour, and a lineup of small plates that honestly deserve their own spotlight.

Let’s talk about the mushroom parfait. It straight-up rivalled the Michelin-star mushroom mousse we had recently, and that’s not hyperbole. We're talking Lukes Small Goods sourdough, onion jam, oloroso sherry, pickled mushrooms — all the umami, none of the pretension.

And then there was the ice cream. Caramelized onion ice cream with stewed plums. Sounds weird. Tastes like a buttery, nutty, caramelesque religious experience.

The vibe? Effortlessly cool — like the kind of place you could bring a date, meet friends, or sit solo at the bar and feel completely at ease. Service is top-tier: attentive without hovering, polished without stiffness. That rare fine-dining-meets-neighbourhood-bar combo.

Would I go back? Hell yes. I want to eat my way through the whole menu and probably write a sonnet about that parfait.

Five stars. Zero notes. Just go.

Absolutely a must try! We loved everything! Each plate was better than the last! We were not drinking alcohol at the time of our visit and they had lots of mocktails and non alcoholic options. Service was excellent and ambience was perfect for our date night. What a great experience will definitely be going back!
