Went in to try their breakfast menu and ordered two eggs over easy, whole wheat toast, home fries, bacon, sausage and coffee.

Initially watching my meal be prepared by cooks with no hairnets/beardnets or any standard foodsafe practices like washing their hands between products gave me a bad first impression, which was only sightly compensated by the amazing and hardworking waitress who was serving me.

The meal itself was a 8/10 after being served soggy and oversalted French fries instead of home fries, (which made it feel the meal was rushed out despite having a nearly empty diner), and the proteins aside from the eggs were are all re-deepfried before serving, making them soggy and more greasy then necessary.

The coffee was the best I've ever had while dining out, and that alone makes me think they're worth another shot.

The food was delicious and abundant. Coffee was not watered down with great taste. Staff was friendly.

We stopped here for breakfast because Wild Leek was closed. The food was pretty good… Just standard breakfast fare. Service was pretty slow, and the restaurant itself is very noisy inside with some kind of powerful fan. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of vegetarian type stuff for breakfast. My partner had eggs benny and really enjoyed it. I had blueberry pancakes which were nice and fluffy. The home fries were like large French fries, and were golden crispy and delicious. Overall, it was good.

Got a cob salad from here and was not good at all. Literally had 4 pieces of fried chicken which are the size of chicken popcorn cut in half. I’m not gonna lie, hollandaise sauce was pretty good. Veggies were fresh. But I’d appreciated a better cheese like swiss or something in it and not just store bought shredded cheese.

It must have changed hands. No one else in the diner at 8:30 am on a Saturday. The young folks who used to run it are gone and the menu has changed and the food is now very bad. We ordered eggs benny with hash browns. Came with French fries (8:30am) and the hollandaise sauce was full for clumps and white specs…seemed like it was from day before. We didn’t eat much, funny taste. Then we left, no tips. Won’t be back. Paid $40 for two meals that were not edible and bad coffee.

Nice atmosphere. Food was presented and waitress never came back ro check in. No effort made to be welcoming. Had a chicken clubhouse sandwich, with "local" chicken. The sandwich had very little chicken and the chicken was crunchy battered chocken. A very disappointing experience. I won't be back.

This was the cutest little diner! We absolutely loved breakfast, and would highly recommend. Food was amazing and a good portion.
4 stars because the staff wasn't the most welcoming, but everyone has those days so I'm chopping it down to she was just having an off day! The cook was the only staff that I seen smile. Just some helpful feedback!

Idk why it’s so hard to get good coffee in Halifax, but the coffee here was pretty good. I had a basic breakfast platter and it was all very good. Taters were crispy, and soft inside although I wished they added some spices but I can see why they don’t since it would slow down service for people that don’t like spice. The house biscuits were very fluffy, and the bacon was tasty. It was a LOT of food, so you def get a good deal. Service was attentive, it looked like it just slowed down when I got there so the waitress alone was in a rush.

great breakfast - highly recommended. Very delish. Great service. Nice bright place to have a nice breakfast/brunch. Highly recommended. I enjoyed the 3-egg 'all the meat yum' breakfast and my wife tried the salmon bagel breakfast plate and we both really enjoyed our meals. I appreciate that unlike many places the coffee and tea are not an extra charge with their breakfast. Good prices. Recommended. Did I say - recommended? :-)

My photo doesn’t do this place justice! Home fries are great with lots of flavour, eggs perfectly done (over easy) and bacon was crispy! Came here for breakfast the whole weekend I was in town.

GREAT breakfast! Breakfast/Brunch is my favourite meal to dine out for (admittedly I go out to eat quite often) and the Big Street Breakfast did not disappoint. Everything was perfect - crispy bacon, delicious housemade hash browns, BEANS! Who doesn’t love beans!? The staff was friendly and attentive. I love a casual neighbourhood spot. If you’re looking to add a breakfast spot to your North End/West End rotation, I highly recommend checking this place out. Looking forward to going back soon!

Nice clear, fresh dining room. Quite a lot of seating. Limited lunch menu but a good variety. Service was attentive.

Parking: Parking on side streets. There is construction in the neighborhood so the workers are taking a lot of spots.
