Food to go app. Order confirmed, payment taken. Show up to a dark closed restaurant with others also there for pickup. Nothing on the door or windows saying why closed. Got our money though. Horrible way to run a business. Times are already tough on people.

This place is dishonest through the Too Good To Go app. I've tried to buy something from them 3 times already!! but they cancel the order when I'm halfway to the restaurant!
So I plan my time, dinner, and gas, but they list available portions on the Too Good To Go app. In reality, this is just their way of playing it safe, and it's not a guarantee that these portions will be available. It's very unfair to the customer.

I ordered two orders from the too good to go app (already paid them), and it ask me to pick up my order from 7pm-8pm. I arrived at the restaurant at 7:20pm and they are already closed. Called them and no one pick up the call!
Will not order from them again!

If you’re craving authentic Chinese street flavors in Halifax, this little spot is a hidden gem.
The portions are incredibly generous — honestly, the amount of meat in the noodles shocked me (in a good way!).
The flavors are bold, rich, and unapologetically Chinese — not something “adjusted” for Western palates.
The young owner is warm, friendly, and clearly puts heart into his food and business.
Prices are very reasonable, and you can tell they care more about customers eating well than cutting corners.
Highly recommend if you want a true taste of China or just want to be properly fed!

The restaurant was dirty, and the fried dough had a rancid oil taste

It wasn’t a very good experience. The dishes were over-seasoned, with an overwhelming soy-sauce flavor—very salty—and everything looked dark, stained by the soy sauce. It felt like the food was cooked by an apprentice. Could be better.

The owner has changed, the taste and the quality of the food is VERY POOR now! And the new owner is not focusing on getting their food better, but paying for marketing and cursing anyone who complains about their food. Don’t ever come here!

We came here this past winter during our visit to NS. The food was great and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We needed a place to store our luggage before our evening flight and the owner helped us without any hesitation. Thank you Mr. Wang!

Located near the harbor front, with easy access to the broad walk, the food is amazing! During the time we were visiting Halifax, we went there twice for some home style noodles and vermicelli. It’s a gem in Halifax for sure!

Really disgusted, me and my friend found bugs in their fried rice and asked for refund of the rice, this restaurant had the worst attitude of this situation! Don’t ever even walk in!!!

After changing the boss, the portion size has obviously become smaller, and the taste has also changed a lot!

Keep in mind that the kitchen closes at 7:50pm, not 8. Might seem small, but needs to be taken into account when planning to order or eat there.
Otherwise, I've been there multiple times and enjoyed the food, but all of them before the change in ownership, can't give an opinion on the change yet

I went to eat Xiaoyu's Malatang today. It was really delicious. The portion was huge and the taste was great. The sesame paste tasted amazing. It only cost 14.99. It's the best Malatang in Hafa.

I ordered from Uber, and got a fever(38.2C), headache and diarrhea after I had the food.
