We arrived to find out the restaurant didn't have our reservation. Several other parties made their reservations through Open Table as well, but the restaurant had nothing! Luckily, they were able to accommodate our small party of two. Our server was fantastic! Food is typical pub food.

Why 4 stars, not 5? One reason, and this is best expressed as loudly as possible, so forgive the all caps...THE ACOUSTICS THERE ARE DEAFENING.
I can't hear myself drink. No but seriously, please please please put up some soft surfaces on the walls, ceilings, floors. Maybe a tapestry. Or even acoustic tiles.Too much reverberation.
Foods great, the wait staff are friendly, fast & 'fficient. Reasonable prices.

Been coming here every time I’m in Halifax since early 2000’s. Incredible staff , Brownie is literally the best of the best , amazing food , great atmosphere.

We went for my daughter's birthday. The food was so good. I had the pan fried haddock with mashed potatoes and veggies. Everyone was very happy with their meals. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. A great meal and we will go again.

Wings night should not be promoted as wings night. Went there and was told we cannot carry our leftover wings home. This does not make sense because we are paying for the full price and also it’s not like it’s all you can eat wings. Even ayce places allow you to carry after charging an extra fee but this is not even the situation. This place was one of my go-to in Halifax, will never go there anymore, very disappointed

Myself and my group of five had lunch here on Thursday 14 August.

We heard from some locals that this place had a great rooftop deck space for dining, unfortunately it was closed due to weather when we visited.

We were greeted and seated promptly, our server was super nice and friendly. Our drink order came quick and was delicious. We were enjoying our time and chatting when right before our food came we saw a mouse dash across one of the adjacent tables. We immediately notified our server who was apologetic and cleaned the table that we spotted the mouse at. After that, we heard nothing further beyond our servers apology for the situation. Again, she was sweet and kind, and we felt guilty about leaving, so some of our party finished their meals and we paid and left. Our food order had mixed reviews-the burger was delicious, two of our party had the shawarma bowl and a burrito bowl which they said were okay, but weren’t anything special. The chicken Caesar wrap was not good. The chicken was bland and the Caesar dressing had weak Caesar flavor-it tasted more like a mayonnaise dressing than Caesar. We had an order of calamari for an appetizer which was not well seasoned and greasy.

We paid our full bill and left.

I can see that the owner responded to a previous customer who commented and shared a photo of a mouse in the dining room. I am nervous posting this, and potentially having my words taken as an attempt to harm a long-standing restaurants reputation. That is not why I am posting this review. I think it’s important for other diners to hear from customers about their experience.

I’m sorry if our server did not share with the manager that we had spotted a mouse. That is not our responsibility. We aren’t the type of folks to demand to speak to a manager or expect a discount if we didn’t like the food. I get that it’s an old building in a historic district with the potential for mice and flies, which isn’t automatically a sign of uncleanliness, sometimes it can’t be helped. However, the owners should be doing more to control this issue. It’s not a great experience to see mice, regardless of the reason for their presence when you are trying to enjoy a meal.

I hope the situation improves and the mouse issue becomes better controlled. We would come back again if we could try the rooftop deck if this were the case.

Amazing experience! Our waitress Bella was fantastic. The food was delicious. The drinks were refreshing. We sat on outside on the rooftop and it was beautiful.

I was server the largest portion of fish I have every seen - server said it was an 18oz filet

Was completely shocked at the prices here! 10 chicken wings for 27.00!! and then ordered potatoes skins at another crazy price. Order of skins was made with 6 potatoe skins and a sprinkle of cheese and bacon. Too over priced.

Saw like 4 rats 🐀 , flies and it was smelling like rust in there .

Didn’t try the food but they had a great dark and stormy. The rooftop patio was super nice for a perfect sunny day.
