Essentially English Bakery & Cafe

We just happened to stop into this gem of a Cafe by chance on our way to Blue Beach and enjoyed the most delicious lunch, both savoury and sweet! Everything was really fresh and homemade, and sooo good, and very reasonable priced as well! Their selection is awesome, so many yummy things to choose from! A big thumbs up, we'll be sure to be back and recommend it to our friends.

The ginger cookie is from the heavens and my return is carved in stone.
Their scone zone is packs a punch, if you don't get any confectionery you are an unguided hedon.

We know Kate from years ago, when she lived in Saint John. It was so nice to see her again when we visited the Essential English Bakery & Cafe, for the first time. We packed the cooler with steak & kidney pies, my husband’s all time favourite, and chicken pies. Then, unable to make a decision, we bought carrot cake, cheesecake squares (both coconut and lemon) and Eccles cake, for the road. I am glad I was so indecisive - 5 stars for all!! Delicious!!! Always a huge treat to go in and have something delicious to eat. Had a Curry Chicken pastry...very flaky pastry with a nice chicken filling and a nice cup of coffee.

Husband said it was the best sausage roll he's ever had! Eccles cake, millionaire bar, and date square were delicious as well.

Expensive, the products were appealing to the eye but tasteless...not a friendly place.. Myself I couldn't carry a cookie, my partner had his handfuls trying to help me ..I thought our clerk really didn't care but did put our products on our table who didn't seem to want to help..cold reception...won't be recommending..it really dampened our day trip

Eccles cakes, muffins, and scones all superb. Friendly service and good selection of British goods. Wonderful gem!

Absolutely fabulous! Their sausage rolls are their top selling item for a reason. However, don't overlook their amazing meat pies and exquisite pasteries. The tea is lovely! Highly recommend.
