I love this place! Usually go once a week for either wings or breakfast. THE WINGS ARE AMAZING WING NIGHT IS WEDNESDAY! The servers are all attentive and on pointe especially Leighton, that guy needs a raise and works really hard! Kitchen staff are always nice to talk to plus I get to practice my tagalog

A Mixed Experience at Border Diner and Grill

My family and I visited Border Diner and Grill to celebrate my birthday a little early since it falls on a weekday this year. The restaurant's website is well-designed, and the menu options looked very appealing. However, the pricing was noticeably higher than what I would typically expect from a diner.

On the positive side, the staff was very friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained. The atmosphere leaned toward an older crowd, but that wasn’t an issue for us.

As for the food, the experience was mixed. My son had a burger and seemed satisfied with it. My wife ordered the seafood chowder, which she found to be just okay. My daughter had a quesadilla, but unfortunately, she was disappointed. The fries were fine, but the quesadilla didn’t quite meet expectations. I had the Philly cheesesteak, and while it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t quite what I was hoping for—the bread wasn’t toasted, which affected the overall texture. The Caesar salad that came with it was also underwhelming.

That said, the potato skins were fantastic—probably the highlight of the meal. The chicken wings were decent but could have been better.

Overall, I would rate our experience 3 out of 5. The quality of food was in line with what you might expect from a diner, but given the pricing, I felt the value wasn’t quite there. While I appreciate the friendly service and clean environment, the meal itself didn’t quite justify the cost.

I’m always open to trying new places, but based on this experience, I’m not sure I would return. However, I do appreciate the effort the staff puts into their service, and I hope others may have a more satisfying experience.

Never A Disappointment when I go in to eat , my kids also enjoy meals there witch is great , good size portions for a good price and never a long wait for food to come out hot & freash and staff is always friendly and accommodating with everyone I've seen

I love the staff with my whole heart, always so friendly and honestly such a huge shoutout to Jodie! We love her so much! She never fails to make us laugh and just overall one of our favourite servers! ♥️

Ive really enjoyed the few times Ive been, great options at a great price. They also do online ordering for take out now and after using it i think its a really great option for people who don't want to eat in, you can order and just pick up without the added wait time!

Well, three strikes and your out! First and second visits were disappointing but thought we'd give it a last try. My wings were excellent but unfortunately onions were burnt black on over cooked liver and your basic 2 patty hot hamburger dinner was simply fried loose hamburger on two huge pieces of bread with gravy. Not very appetizing for sure. Service was great and very appologetic and did gave my husband a free dessert. Sorry but will definitely NOT be back. Was so looking forward to a hometown restaurant ☹

It's not a bad little spot! I had never been there before. We went with another couple for a "double date"! It's a fun thing to do in your 50s!

Decent atmosphere. Casual, laid back, quiet-ish. The tables were clean & our waitress was THE sweetest little thing! She is the ONLY waitress & somehow managed to keep things moving at a good pace without getting frustrated or overwhelmed. She's adorable, friendly & really good at her job.

The restaurant is easy to find. There is lots of parking. Basic choices on the menu (fish & chips, seafood platter, burgers, some salad, a quesadilla, club sandwich) with senior & child options. It's also licensed, soooo.....haha.

Now the food! I had the pan-fried haddock with a baked potato & veggies. The fish was good. A solid 8/10. The veggies, broccoli (which was PERFECTLY cooked) & carrots. A 10/10. The baked potato left a bit to be desired, though. It was kinda like it was cooked yesterday & reheated. I'll give that a 4/10. The meal came with lots of butter, sour cream & tartar sauce. And the entire meal was hot.

The guys both had fish & chips. Beer battered was the special. They both said they thought there was a bit too much batter. One had mashed potatoes & said they were a bit too garlicky. But that's probably just a preference thing. My friend had the pan-fried haddock & a Greek salad that looked delicious.

Only 1 dessert was ordered. A slice of lemon meringue pie. It looked heavenly & had quite impressive meringue.

I only got 1 picture. Sorry. Portions were a decent size & food was reasonably priced.

Typical fare and atmosphere, but my server was great! He was super attentive and seemed to genuinely care and want to do well. Thank you for a yummy lunch, great service! #ilovehantsport.
