Rose & Rooster Cafe Reviews
Lovely spot , great staff and food is healthy and delicious!
We ordered pancake for $18. It was supposed to come with fruits…but came out with only small chopped apples, which was disappointing. Also the cream on the side was quite tiny. Maple syrup was forgotten. We also ordered a fish cake with a porched egg. It came out in a bean soup but with no breads etc. I wish that they were more generous with the portion if they were serving brunch menu.
If you are looking for a simple and well-crafted bite, this is a great choice. I chose cod cakes and baked beans. The cod cakes were light and fluffy with a great crust; the beans were perfectly cooked and flavoured. Seating is basic and in the sun mostly; umbrellas would be a welcome addition. This was my first time eating here, but I will return when I am in the area.

The Rose & Rooster Cafe offers great local-sourced food, including delectable fish cakes, Breakfast Buddha bowl, and quiche. Customers describe the food as fresh, delicious, and imaginative, creating a wonderful experience. The friendly staff provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the cafe has clean and kid-friendly facilities. Visitors appreciate the wholesome, healthy, and cozy food, often stopping in for a full breakfast, lunch, or a snack to take home. The cafe also offers to-go options for those who want to bake at home. The cafe's coffee and snacks are highly praised, with many customers returning multiple times a year. Recent visitors enjoyed a quick brunch with the fish cakes, which were described as out of this world and packed with flavor. Desserts like lemon shortbread and caramel shortbread with chocolate are melt-in-the-mouth delicious, and the pancakes on the weekend brunch menu are amazing. The raspberry muffin is noted as one of the best, not too sweet and full of fresh raspberries. There is a little deck out back with a lovely breeze, making it a nice spot for lunch or a relaxing snack. While some feel the prices are a bit high for what they receive, the overall experience remains enjoyable and worth a visit.
