stopped in here the other day after a long ride from cape breton, we were hoping for our favourite diner to be open but it was closed so we stopped in here a few minutes away from the other one.
the staff was great and helpful but the food prices vs what you got was a little ridiculous, i ordered the newfie mix it was only a handfull of fries shredded cheese and a hamburger chopped up with onion and gravy, this came to $18+ for the small, girlfriend got 2 piece fish and chips and the fish was on the small side compared to many other places was served on cardboard plates with plastic utensils.
we had milkshakes and soft serve i think this is were this place shines but i would skip it for food at least for what we had ordered which was a major disappointment

Have a variety of food you can get, im pretty picky about my fish when I get fish N chips. Hands down I can say some of the best fish you can get in the Truro area. I usually get a blueberry sundae for a treat on those hot days, the only problem i have is their lack of whipped cream for the sundae (inside joke). Friendly staff. I highly recommend.

Great little old school diner vibes. The food is fairly priced and quite decent. Their double hamburger for 9$ is a great value. Only thing i can complain about is their ice cream. Not sure what brand they use but it tastes very cheap and not like scottsburn.. Yet their signs are scottsburn. It's very soft even the hard scooped stuff but tastes off. I had the soft as well and it was also very cheap tasting I'm not sure which brand they use but if they changed that it would be 5 stars.

I would not pay someone to eat here. Trash on the tables, food on the floors. The owner/manager was not professional. I understand you cook food but clean yourself up, food down the apron, something in her hair. There is a room with a bunch of junk which looks very filthy and unprofessional, definitely not want you expect from a diner. My burger had nearly a jar of relish on it, onion rings poutine was hard and burnt
amazing food, just had the fish N chips and it was really really good. burgers are amazing as well. very friendly staff. if you are looking for good home cooked diner food, then this is your place.
