Rhubarb Reviews
We had another amazing dinning experience this evening (Ian's birthday, May 30/25). The cornbread was amazing but the seafood pasta is always our go to. Looking forward to getting back soon.

Rhubarb, located in Halifax just north of Peggy’s Cove on the waterfront, is a restaurant known for its friendly and accommodating staff. The atmosphere is pleasant, making it a great spot for both dining in and picking up food. The menu features standout items like the lobster roll, fish and chips, and fries, which are said to be the best in town. The seafood chowder, with large chunks of fish and lobster in a milk-based broth, is outstanding, and the kale Caesar salad is highly recommended. Vegetarians can find a few options on the menu, and all soups are vegan. Rhubarb supports local artists and artisans, and offers baked goods to take home.
The location is described as "dreamy," with customers enjoying the warm breeze and beautiful view while dining outside. The food is consistently praised as "delicious," "fresh," and "well-presented," especially the seafood dishes like mussels with fried bread in white wine sauce, and the famous lobster roll. The ambiance and wait staff are also noted as "top-notch," though some customers felt the service could be a little impersonal at times. Recent reviews highlight the restaurant's wonderful location and fabulous food, including an amazing jalapeño corn bread. Many guests mention that they were promptly seated, served, and enjoyed a relaxed experience. The fish and chips remains a favorite, praised for its tempura-style batter with a hint of spices that makes it extraordinarily delicious. Customers also appreciate the large patio overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, where service is attentive and friendly, with staff like Greg providing excellent service. The restaurant offers a variety of tasty options, from the pan-fried haddock special Karma to fish tacos and smashburger, all served fresh and at the same time for the entire party. With lots of free parking and beautiful scenery, Rhubarb is considered a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Peggy’s Cove peninsula.
