Amazing pesto fettuccine pasta. I didn’t want seafood so they made it without the seafood for me. Highly recommend.

Only visited the Thirsty Hikers Pub but the bartender on Saturday was awesome and super friendly. She was the only one down there with live music and was crushing it! Cheap drinks and a great atmosphere, would definitely go back again!

8/13/2024-
Dinner at the Glenhorn Beach Resort- Crofter’s Table Restaurant
Dinner was a surprise. We were told that the food was not very good here. My husband and I shared a delicious Caesar salad and a delicious seafood linguini. Would have been perfect, but the seafood was overcooked. Rate 4 out of 5.

We came back for dinner on 8/14 and it was the absolute worst dinner we had in Cape Breton. I had a surf and turf. The steak was inedible, the scallops overcooked, there was no butter to dip the scallops in (as was stated on the menu) and no roll (as was stated on the menu). The mashed potatoes were tasteless and dry and the vegetables, a mix of carrots and turnips, were overcooked and terrible. In their defense (I hate turnips). I literally ended up feeding the steak I ordered to my friend’s dogs. Both our friend and my husband had the same potatoes and vegetables, but with halibut – and the halibut was OK. I gave this meal a minus 1, but by companions probably gave it a 2 out of 5.
So overall for the two dinners, since I can't rate them separately, 3 out of 5

Sadly disappointed. Root veggie currie (well carrots - fresh and frozen), surf 'n turf - excellent scallops - really bad steak - frozen veggies

Really yummy crofters chowder (so much fresh seafood) with garlic toast, ceaser salad was good but basic. Wait staff were super attentive and kind, no wait to get in and fast service. Bit pricey but good food so wasn’t too upset about the price.

We had a wonderful seafood chowder, with the fish and chips, plus a dark craft beer. It was very yum. Service was very friendly and informative. Atmosphere was very clean, and the light Shanty music in the background very fitting.I would recommend the chowder.

The dining room was full so we ended up eating in the pub downstairs which had live music. They were very accommodating in helping us find what our kids would eat and were very friendly. I had the burger and it was really good. The spices they used made the meat quite tasty. My husband had grilled halibut and said it was the best he’s had since we’ve been in Cape Breton. Well worth the stop after a long day of hiking in the park.

My sister and I stopped at Glenghorm for dinner at the Crofter’s Table Restaurant while traveling along the Cabot Trail. The service was super friendly and attentive and the food was DELICIOUS!! We got the Caesar salad, seafood chowder and seafood pasta with homemade sun-dried tomato sauce (which they split into 2 portions since we were sharing). Both the chowder and pasta were LOADED with fresh seafood! ? Our expectations were well exceeded!

This was a great disappointment, we were challenged for dining options as the season ended on the Cabot Trail towards the end of October, and settled on this place hiking to sit down to a proper meal and not take out pizza. The waitress’s were kind but not great, I ordered the chowder and the steak dinner, the chowder was so thick and disgusting. Clearly Canned chowder base and added some seafood. Really bad, came with double sided buttered Cheep sandwich bread they panned off as garlic bread. The steak wasn’t great but was okay. The side vegetables however were frozen veggies, so gross. Was a real let down. And the prices were crazy for what you got.The

We ordered club house with poutine- poutine was mush, bread wasnt even toasted on the club house. I ordered the grilled chicken burger with onion rings and it was by far the smallest piece of chicken I've seen on a burger. You couldn't eat the onion rings. They were definitely put in the deep fryer multiple times. Asked the girl on the phone if they had chicken fingers and fries, she said yes. When i asked how many pieces she said 3-4. It came as a kids meal written on the container with 10 fries and 2 very small pieces of chicken. (It was for an adult, no mention of children). $70 and most of it was thrown in the garbage.

This restaurant is a great disappointment. I would have liked to give no star at all but then I would have not been able to post this review. For the price of 18$ plus tax I got the take away for the tiniest cheese cake and a smashed apple cake, I ever have purchased and the taste was less than average.
