Not worth it. Way too expensive for what it is offering. The place is really small.

Vegetarian options: Only veggie dumplings.

Fisherman’s Kitchen is a must-stop along the Cabot Trail! The cozy, seaside vibe adds to the charm, making it feel like a true local experience. I tried their Eggs Benedict for breakfast, and it was delicious—perfectly cooked eggs with a creamy hollandaise sauce that was just right. The service was warm and welcoming, and you could tell the staff put care into each dish. With fresh ingredients and generous portions, it’s the ideal place to fuel up for a day on the trail. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re exploring the area!

We really enjoyed the dinner in this cozy joint in Ingonish. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the vegetarian dumplings with the chili oil. The fish and chips is also really good. The batter on the fish was light, crispy, and well seasoned unlike many other places in Ingonish.

Vegetarian options: The vegetarian dumplings are tasty, filling, and really flavorful. A must try if you like dumplings.

Liked the onion rings here. Ordered orange zesty chicken with fried rice & veg dumplings. The food was just edible & lacked flavour. Won’t recommend!

We rented a nearby house for a few days, and decided to walk up to this spot for some fish and chips and it was, frankly, some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in years (and I say that as a former Brit). Service was peppy and upbeat, and when I came back two nights later for another to-go order, I was recognized and cheerfully greeted like I was a regular who’d been coming there for years. A highlight of our trip along the Cabot Trail.

The food was okay. Not super flavourful. A little bit expensive for what you get.

The staff are very nice and friendly,
The dumplings are home made, and has the taste of home; the chef's spring roll is very delicious; sandwich and breakfast are nice too.

Great food and welcoming staff! The dumplings and coconut cream pies were delicious. Definitely will comeback on next time.

Kid-friendliness: My two girls loved these handmade dumplings.

Fisherman's Kitchen restaurant was a huge disappointment!! Highly recommend avoiding. We arrived 45 minutes within opening for breakfast and were told that there was no coffee, regular tea or juice available, but we could have green tea or pop. Our order of eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast was received 90 minutes after ordering when there were only two other tables with a total of six occupants between them. When the order did arrive, it was not correct. Fearing another 90+ minute wait, we ate what was served. $16 plus tax per plate for mediocre food—buyer beware.

Do not seek out breakfast here unless you enjoy no coffee and waiting for over an hour for overpriced, mediocre food.

Here is my experience:

1. No coffee - we arrived 45 mins after the "kitchen" opened and we're told they were out of coffee. Out of coffee on a Saturday morning during breakfast hours?? What??
2. There were 5 of us in our party. There were 2 parties, one of 4 and another of 2. The party of 4 had just finished up their meals as we were arriving. We all ordered your typical breakfast meal: eggs, bacon, home fries, toast, Eggs Benedict. The exception was one person ordered a grilled cheese. It took 1 hour and 15 mins for the grilled cheese to come out with the last meals (Eggs Benny) coming out 10 mins later.
3. The food: Eggs, ok. Bacon, paper thin. Homefries, just cooked. Toast, almost buttered. Complete failing grade. And, for $16, terribly overpriced.

The management should stop trying to offer something (breakfast) they are clearly not equipped to provide.

We got take out from here. The staff was very friendly and I could tell they were working hard, and it’s a small place. Unfortunately the food was a bit underwhelming. They forgot my fries and I only realized when I already got back to my hotel which was far enough that I didn’t bother going back. My order was a fish sandwich which was good but without fries it really felt like an underwhelming meal. My wife got the seafood platter which she said was ok. I see potential though and hopefully this was just an off day for them. The atmosphere in the restaurant itself seems very cozy and pleasant, with nice views of the bay. Location may be convenient to you if you’re exploring the area.
