Incredible location, restaurant was good but rooms dated and expensive for what you get.
The meal was overall well done. The atmosphere was overall forgettable, dated and not very well kept. I remember looking at this hotel and thinking sheesh I’m glad we’re not staying here. The drinks and the meal were good though, and we’d eat here again.

The chef's new pastry team excels in creating artistic and tasty desserts, such as S'Mores and raspberry rhubarb. Wine selections are also impressive, with options available by the glass or bottle. Despite some inconsistencies, Purple Thistle is worth a visit, with good prices and refined yet casual service.
