Great staff and great food. We stayed at the Lodge and had the pleasure of two dinners and two breakfasts here. Caring, attentive, and patient staff (we had a bit of a screamy toddler). Looking forward to doing it all again some time in the future (sans toddler) God willing. Thanks again.

We were apprehensive about eating at Arduaine given a spate of recent negative reviews.

Thankfully, our experience was quite positive. Service was efficient and friendly. We shared a competently executed Caesar salad followed by dishes of lobster ravioli and haddock, both of which were quite good.

As for atmosphere, the dining room is a bit loud and sterile, but it has a killer ocean view.

A “to die for” dining experience? No. But all in all quite good and we were happy we came.

Location and view is fabulous. The service was quite good. We ordered the Pescatore with a half lobster tail and fresh local Halibut. We could not believe how tough and overcooked this very expensive meal was. It looked like both entrees. sat in warming pan for way too long. 🥺

Really no other choice if you're at the Keltic Lodge. Popular for that reason. On the expensive side for what is really a casual restaurant, but then again all supplies have to be transported to this rather remote location from afar. Limited menu for, I suppose, that reason as well. Nonetheless, the meal was well prepared, very tasty and nicely served.

ordered a bowl of chowder that came with a very small portion (half full 6oz?) but had almost nothing of substance within it. Had a cesar salad that was made with iceberg not romaine and the dressing was awful. Also due to a celiac issue I had requested no croutons but it came with croutons. The waiters response was that he tried to pick them out. We canceled our order of fish and chips and left. As we were leaving another guest advised us to not order the food here as they had a similar experience.

Some of the food was very good, the seafood chowder is not worth the $21 charged. While decent, it was lacking in high quality seafood and was a small portion. Server was not trained at all and we had to ask for utensils, butter, napkins salt & pepper, etc. Totally in acceptable. I would go somewhere else.

We stayed at the lodge this past week. We were a group of 8 guys from Kingston Ontario and ate at the restaurant the two nights we were there. Hannah, our server, was fantastic. Always with a smile and attentive to all of us. Made our experience unique. Great food. Chef came out to greet all of us as well. Amazing view and great atmosphere! I will be back soon!

For a restaurant on the side of the road, this one does well. Clean, friendly and good food.

Our final night in Cape Breton was met with a very odd experience at this restaurant. We were sat without much issue, but immediately had to contact the wait staff as their air conditioner was dripping water on us. They dealt with this fine.

Our food was...difficult. I had chicken parmesan with puttanesca sauce, no complaints. My wife had their lobster dinner, which is served with vegetables and potato salad. Due to a dill allergy we requested the potato salad replaced with smashed potatoes (truffled smashed potatoes are an item on their menu)...

She received a very overcooked lobster complete with innards, a bowl of boiled potatoes, and no vegetables. Some slightly steamed carrots were delivered (only after requesting a vegetable).

The server was fantastic and I couldn't help but feel badly for the front staff. I would be looking for training for the culinary group in the back.

The potential due to fantastic view and beautiful building is there, just not fully utilized.

Do not bother. Horribly mismanaged. Slow service as some waiters doing everything while others stand around. My meal was so disappointing and I felt bad complaining as our waiter did his best. I ordered the halibut and it came with no sauce, overcooked veggies and was tasteless. Worse yet, the plate was watery so it all sat in water. The waiter said the kitchen insisted it was a butter sauce! So infuriating as it was clearly just water from the vegetables that hadn’t been drained and then they charged us with no apology, nothing. Lovely views but never again.
