Super cute little café. It was the first thing open in town and I had a chat with the lady running the place while I waited for my breakfast with coffee. Super friendly, gave my some local tips and best routes. Food was fast , delicious and reasonably priced.

Stopped in Inverness for dinner after driving Cabot Trail to Ingonish. Rueben Sandwiches and salad were very good. Friendly prompt service. We returned back in the early morning for breakfast. We were very satisfied once again with our experience.

A pleasant and welcoming café in UK style. I had breakfast, an omelet (they spell it in GBS style here) with far too many healthy vegetables, and filter coffee. Ample helping, with a friendly waitress. It has an ample seating area, and after breakfast time - 11:30 - they do burgers etc. Alcohol too. Note in particular, the frieze of Great War illustrations, and wall photos of former mining. Oh, and the model train above the counter. Well worth a stop.

Stopped in at The Coal Miners and had the toasted western, it was absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and just what I was craving. The servers were amazing too, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

My breakfast was truthfully not great. My “scrambled” eggs were a fried overcooked egg patty, the potatoes were dry without being crispy, the bacon was overdone and the toast was the best part of the meal.
My husband did enjoy his breakfast!

Our waitress was so lovely. Didn't catch her name but she said she's been working here for 21 years. She made our experience great. We had the early bird special for breakfast and it was fast and delicious. Decent amount of meat with good home fries.

We ordered 3lbs of chicken wings for take out. The sauces on 2lbs tasted like either ketchup with spices thrown in or pizza sauce. We were very disappointed with how bad these wings tasted. I am sure their more popular items are fine. The service was great, the waitresses were wonderful.

So, nice location, nice place but please, people, this is NOT fresh fish and food.

The scallops, clams and probably even fish likely come in big frozen bags. It's terrible. You are basically buying deep fried frozen bulk seafood, it's honestly terrible.

The fries are the same, commercial size frozen fries.

The fried scallops have a think layer of nasty bread with tiny, not Nova Scotia scallops. Terrible.

I wish these places that serve food like this can at least write a note that its not local Cape Breton seafood. Its embarrassing

The food was okay. I had the Cole Miner Burger and it was nothing special. The fries were soggy and not very good. The service was horrible. Never checked on us, never got refills for water and hardly payed any attention to us. We had to go up to the waiter and ask for water refills at the end of the meal because they never came back.

Came here Sunday July 27/25. We were seated for 15 minutes before getting a menu. The 2 waitresses kept looking our way and talking to each other, as if they were arguing over who was gonna serve us. 20 minutes after getting our menus (we almost left) we finally had our order taken. 30 minutes later we get our food, which was ok but nothing spectacular. Never seen our waitress check in for refills or if we needed anything else. We seen multiple tables of people come in, sit down, and not get served so they just left (can't blame them), then at the end we had to literally chase our waitress down so we could get our bill and finally leave. While the waitress was nice, she had no sense of urgency whatsoever.
If you like to spend 2 hours at a restaurant mostly wondering if you're forgotten about, then this I guess this is the place for you.
