Overhyped, overpackaged and just okay for the price. If this were the 90s, this place would likely be considered one of the best spots but it's 2023 and this has been so done. The cookies are decent, but definitely not spectacular. If you're picking one up at a farmer market to go with your coffee, it's a great choice as they're nice and small and a bit sweet. I noticed there are a lot of complaints about price; that's not really relevant because people need to realize the cost of ingredients has risen astronomically and if you're purchasing from a small business, don't expect to pay 99 cents like a massive chain can produce and lose money on. The packaging here is a major turn off. The thickest plastic bags you've ever seen and just horrible for the environment. There is a better way but because this place is still stuck in the 90s, they've obviously opted for tacky packaging; thick heat-sealed plastic bags with unnecessary stapled paper labels. If you can get into the bag, watch you don't cut yourself open on the staples (I can't believe Health Canada even allows staples on food packages!). Lastly, if you're stopping into the shop, it will likely make you want to turn around. The store is always dirty and always cluttered. Twice we've gone in, the floor had leaves (once was in winter) all over the floor and both times it looked like it hadn't been swept in months. It's really hard to figure out where to order and where to pay. It's just poorly set up. The worst part is the son and mom owner aren't your typical business owners and don't really have personalities you'd expect to be selling something happy like cookies. I'd head over to T. A. N. and grab some sweets instead. This place is definitely overrated.

Sorry for a late review.....Last month, back before Christmas, I purchased some of their products (and kinda pricey too!!) at a craft sale down the Valley......Fast forward to Christmas, and they were no good at all, and as I was told they should be good for at least a month when I bought their products on the 3rd, they most definitely were not on the 25th, they went completely stale, and I guess you could say that they were total garbage!!!I would not recommend buying their products whatsoever, because of their complete misrepresentation of their own product, and I will also never purchase their poor product again!!I wish I had known before buying them, as I had bought from them once prior to then at an outdoor farmers' market in the same community and had no issue...Buyer beware!!!

I ordered shortbread cookies for a baby shower that I was hosting, blue onesies and blue rattles. They were beautifully decorated and tasted wonderful. Everyone enjoyed them.

I could eat my way from one end to the other - amazing and so delicious - REAL shortbread and organic ingredients, justifies the pig out! Grabbed a few sale cookies too, I mean who can resist a ginger"dead"man cookie after Halloween - melt in the mouth and warranted a giggle too.
Coffee was great, cookies were tasty but a little pricey, very nicely displayed.

Unfortunate first experience. Ordered cookies in advance requesting blue icing. Any shade of blue would have been great.. Cookies were forest green when we arrived for pick up. They said it was the closest they could get to the requested colour and did not offer to amend the price even though the batch was not prepared as requested. Supporting local businesses is especially important to do during this pandemic but due to the poor customer service, this will be our last order from Sable. I hope this will not be experienced by other customers in future.
