We always absolutely love going to the Dixie Lee Family Restaurant in Liverpool, NS! My husband is originally from Bathurst, NB and Dixie Lee's are quite common and plentiful near that way, but he was so excited when we discovered the location in Liverpool (the only one in NS I think). Every time we go to Liverpool, we have to stop. And sometimes, we make the trip just for that!

This took me back to my child hood! The crinkle cut fries are classic and service was excellent. The chicken is perfection and melts in your mouth… really extraordinary!

This is a family favourite restaurant, the best fried chicken in Nova Scotia. Several times a year, we make the 2-hour drive to Liverpool for the tasty treat.

Used to go eat out here alot until I moved away in 2015 (I was a child back then) Loved their food, especially their fries that have ridges.

I’ve seen Dixie Lee advertised for many years, I finally got there; I use to go to these all the time back in the 70’s and 80’s. My first impression was a little pricey, but then I got my order (a chicken and a scallop diner) wow great tasting full meaty pieces of chicken lightly battered (way better than KFC or Mary Browns little bitty pieces) with dipping sauce and large pieces of scallops. It’s not pricey not all especial compared to what you get a KFC or Mary Browns. I will definitely make it a point to stop into Liverpool each time I pass by just for Dixie Lee.
Remember when you were a kid and someone brought fried chicken to a picnic? Experience that joy again at Dixie Lee in Liverpool. This is how fried chicken is supposed to be, tasty, juicy, not caked in batter, just perfectly crispy and delicious. 10/10

Not my cup of tea, but a lot of people seem to like it. I found it bland. Service was quite good though.

We ordered a fish Snack it cost us $15. Dollars each. All we got was mostly fries. We got a little peace of fish witch was old when u tasted it. My bf had 1shrimp witch u could not stick your fork into. I only had 2 shrip n we had 2 scallops witch wasn't cooked. I think they should stay to cooking chicken. We took the sea food n fed it to our cat. It was so bad that all I ate was my fries. So disappointed.

Came after real challenges in Lunenburg. So much quieter, the chicken was fabulous - took some home. Excellent internal restaurant and bathroom space for wheelchair accomodation!Vegetarian options: Didn't explore this
