White Gull Restaurant & Marina

I don’t like crowds. Please don’t come here. This is the best restaurant in Shelburne County. Plenty of lobster and seafood to choose from . Also have normal landlubber selection. They feature several homemade deserts. Restaurant is impeccably clean.

Best meal we had while visiting Shelburn. Cook came out and talked with us. Let me sample an oyster since I had not tried it before. Decided it was not what I wanted. I did go for a surprise me dish. She cooked up a fantastic fish and scallop plate.
Then dumplings for dessert.

Had the seafood chowder and fried clams. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. The chowder came with a tea biscuit and crackers. The waitress was wonderful, very pleasant, accommodating and knowledgeable. Definitely a great place to eat.

My family and I came into this place with high hopes. We found out after we had ordered our drinks that there was no lobster available. I understand supply issues, but why tell us as we are about to order and not beforehand? The real issue is how unapologetic and unaware our server was. We won’t be stopping by Lockeport again, at least not to eat.

The prices at this restaurant are over the top as in way too expensive . Small plates make the meals look big. Too bad , I’m a tourist and thought this would be a great place to go with some family members .. Ended up with burgers as this was the best price , okay burger …. But really … cold buns … disappointing coming from a cook ….

disappointing...if u come here to be wowed by authentic East coast food....u will be disappointed. the haddock my husband had was big and good...but fried in oil that was too old...fries were totally disappointing...dont order them...tartar sauce in a package....coleslaw from a container...like really?! they should stick to selling live lobsters

Enjoyed this lovely little restaurant on the edge of the working harbour in Lockport, NS. Eat in or on the deck. It’s nothing fancy but the food was very good. Had the fish chowder and it was delicious. Server was very attentive and meal arrived in a timely fashion and was nice and hot. Biscuit accompanied the chowder was very, very good. Hubby very much enjoyed his club sandwich and side Caesar salad (dressing a homemade and he loved it!)

I waited an hour for a chicken Caesar salad. It was watery and the portion small. The smallest piece of bread accompanied it, too. $17 for that! Too bad. I was looking forward to chilling, but couldn’t wait to leave.

We were disappointed that there was no place for dogs. The staff was rather rude and we left without being offered any alternative. Many places provide picnic tables so that dog owners can sit with their dogs.
