Once there, I was moved to discover that this woman-owned business is staffed by family members who are keeping alive the legacy of a Miss Ally fisherman, lost to the sea in a 2013 tragedy that claimed five young men from this area. Two things to love about the Maritimes are the fresh seafood (simply cooked, and bursting with flavour) and the friendly locals (in my opinion, Maritimers are the most genuine people in Canada). You will get both of these in abundance at JB’s Steak & Seafood Restaurant.”

“I stopped into this nice restaurant after my sister and I buried our mother in Shag Harbour. I was greeted with a friendly smile from Della, she was friendly and professional and gave me a welcoming experience! I ordered the captains feast that I would rate 10/10! I fell in love with the setup and atmosphere in the restaurant and also the food and experience! If I am ever down those ways again I’ll be in for another order, but I have no family or friends in that area unfortunately, I highly recommend to anyone in the area to make a stop in and support local as it was worth my time and money, I just read an article on Della and the history and how the restaurant came about, I send my love to Della and your family and friends and if I ever have the opportunity to somehow be up around your neck of the woods again , I’m going to be ordering again as I fell in love with the place.
