Great place for birthday parties and great atmosphere
First visit while passing through town and we were very happy with our meals and service. Megan was attentive and friendly and the food arrived in a very reasonable time. I had the Swiss Mushroom Melt Burger. I've not eaten a burger in a restaurant for over 30 years due to a bad experience. The Thistle offers a robust menu of delicious offerings that are reasonably priced. The service is friendly, real, and personable while being fast, hot, and delicious. Do not let this humble place's appearance and location turn you away. The food is solid pub fare and very tasty. The best wings are available, along with fish & chips and beef dip, with very good portions. Perfect fresh cut fries are memorable. The service is gracious and excellent. The locals show up here in large numbers, the smell of beer, sounds of music and laughter is worth the wait. The patio is dog friendly with a separate area and water dishes. This place is the beating heart of New Glasgow.
