Newish place in the Sunnyside Mall opposite Pete's. It has a genuine oriental vibe, with counter seats, a few booths and some two-seat high tables, with the large kitchen in plain view. The menu is quite short, which is a good sign, with a variety of ramens (you can choose your noodle type), a couple of Korean dishes and a decent selection of Japanese starters/sides. I went for the spicy miso ramen with pork. Very nicely flavoured, decent spice and the meat was excellent. Usually I have a hot sake with ramen, but sadly they were out and only had full bottles on offer, so I went for a Sapporo. It's not cheap (I think Sushi Maru is a bit more reasonable) and though the ramen was first rate, it was maybe a little smaller than usual. Overall, a pleasant and repeatable experience.

I've been here twice in the last month and both food & service were wonderful! I had the Tonkotsu Ramen both times, extra chashu - wavy noodle, flavourful broth, perfect egg. My son chose the Nagasaki Champon and said it was delicious - seafood was cooked by someone who knows what to do. The lovely server brought two tiny cups with the plum wine I ordered, which was delicious! Went back for the same and added the fried chicken - crunchy, juicy, tender - and I've been dreaming of it ever since. Husband enjoyed Yaki Soba very much and we could have fought over the fried chicken. Again, the server was knowledgeable, professional and charming. We will be back!

Tonight’s experience was the worst one ever in my life! It was nightmare! The waitress service was terrible and I asked her if she is the owner or server, she said she is just working here, so I told her I was extremely disappointed to her service:1. always cold face without any emotion, we are totally not feeling we are welcome. 2. Didn’t ask “how about the food? Is everything okay?” It’s not a must but most of the restaurants do except fast food restaurants. 3. The most uncomfortable part was when she served a fried chicken without any cutlery and she made one of the chicken jump into the sauce dish by accident, my reaction was take it out with my fingers to avoid it being soggy and it was so hot I screamed a bit, and her reaction was not caring customer like “are you ok?” Her reaction was really annoying made me feel like:” What? Are you stupid?” No empathy at all. So I raised those to her and definitely skipped the tips. But she didn’t feel wrong:” ok, good to know”. At last, she pointed I stood up to tell her:” I’m ready for order” was a rude behavior in Canadian way. Excuse me? I was sitting there for couple of mins to review the menu, there is a column over me, I stood up just because let her see me, my intention was” I’m ready if you are ready”, I’m not in rush, just let her know I’m ready, that’s it. And finally, she told me” you don’t come back to my restaurant!” Well, then I was pretty sure she is the owner! What a shame! I know so many people have pressure nowadays, but your customer is not your enemy and you don’t have to pour out your negative energy to others. Consulting your doctor if you got mental issues. Yes, thank you, I won’t come back to here for sure! Let’s see how long your restaurant will last! Good luck!

Typical shopping mall eatery. The portions are quite large and tasty. The selection isn't huge, but it's perfectly fine for lunch.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times, and I keep coming back because their ramen is honestly one of my favorites. always flavorful, served hot, and prepared quickly. The quality has been consistently good and never disappoints.

But during my recent visit, I was really disappointed with the customer service. The server didn’t seem welcoming at all, and the overall vibe just felt cold. It made the experience uncomfortable, and we actually considered leaving. We only stayed because we were already there and hungry.

I hope the management takes this seriously, especially some of the negative reviews seem to mention the same issue. As much as I love their ramen, I might have to look for another spot that serves great food and better service.

I ordered online with a request to package noodles separately as the ramen was going to PEI. Erin went above and beyond to package the order for travel and even included a handwritten note for reheating. Amazing customer service! The noodles were good too :)
