This place has gone way down hill in terms of the quality of food. Maybe their seafood is good? But our three dishes at my table were terrible. The "clubhouse" which is made with turkey by default unless specified otherwise, was made with processed chicken - gross. The chicken sandwich again was processed. My dish was the pesto chicken parm. No sign of any pesto and it was made with processed chicken and bacon bits and the garlic bread was just a piece of toast with garlic butter and that was all rock hard around the edges and my pasta was way over cooked, likely cooked and frozen and then unthawed to order, $25 bucks plus tax and tip for shitty pasta that my 12 year old could have made better. Way overpriced if you're going to serve crap for food. The atmosphere was also quite off putting the constant screaming coming from the kitchen was alarming at times.

The waiter is nice! But the lobster roll was the worst, i got to say 28 bucks for this lobster roll is a bit of hmmmmmm, I personally don't like it..
We also had the pasta, It was.... lame, the chicken was soft like tofu, and the pasta was way beyond Al Dante.
And, the bathroom was clogged and unusable....
Git to say the waiter was nice!

Great place to grab a quick bite. The food was plentiful, the staff was friendly and provides fast and great service. There was a stage and games, but I went for lunch so there were no performances going on. I would recommend this place!

We've only been there once and for lunch - we ordered basic fish and chips and were extremely disappointed. The coffee was not drinkable and we found out why when we tasted the water. The fish came so over cooked it was like fish jerky. I only ate chips and slaw. I've eaten over cooked fish before but this had to have been cooked earlier and cooked again when we ordered it. There is no way it was cooked to order.

We went there Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 around 6pm. The restaurant was pretty quiet at that time. It was myself, my wife, our daughter and my daughter's friend from Pakistan. We all agreed that the fries were cooked in old oil, my wife got the wrong order of fries but that was no big deal. The clubhouse I got tasted off, borderline rotten. I told the waitress I wasn't eating it and she didn't seem too concerned, she didn't offer to replace it. My biggest complaint was my daughter's friend never had a lobster roll or clubhouse before and she was really looking forward to it. I told her if you wanted to try a lobster roll, CB would be the best place. She ordered the lobster clubhouse and my wife asked if there would be bacon on it, the waitress said NO. Her friend cannot eat pork for religious reasons. She can't eat meat even if it has come in contact with pork. Anyway, the lobster clubhouse came with bacon even after specifically telling the waitress no pork. We asked if we could send it back for a new one. She came back within 3 minutes and she said it was all new. Really, she must think we're stupid. At the end of the meal, the power went out which I know, no-one can control other than NSP which is another story. Luckily I had cash but I refused to pay for my clubhouse. I called the manager a couple of days later and I said I was only calling to make him aware of the problems so he can discuss it with his staff. He was pretty abrupt, I said the turkey was off on my clubhouse and he said it was chicken, whatever it was, it was borderline rotten. Another restaurant trying to cheapen out with replacing turkey for chicken. He said the oil is replaced every third day. He had no comment on whether the lobster clubhouse was actually replaced or not. Overall really bad experience, we ALWAYS ate here when when we're in Cheticamp but not stepping a foot in there again.

Our favourite bar to visit after trying them all in Cheticamp. This one feels more like a pub with some cool decor, had free music *(the bar up the road charges you) and nice food ??

While I was not that impressed with my meal I was really disappointed for my friend. Upon arriving we informed staff of a dairy allergy and asked if they could handle the request. We were told her meal was dairy free and ate. Folks, I would not suggest eating here if you have allergies. I gave an extra star because the staff was friendly.

Passed through Cheticamp on our way along the Cabot Trail. We were on our way back to Ontario, the kids were tired and cranky, and we had a lot of driving still to do. We stopped by Le Gabriel due to it's obvious external east coast appeal, and I'm so glad we did!

Upon entering, we were met by an older gentleman who immediately greeted myself and my kids, making them smile and welcoming us to the establishment, which we later learned he is the owner of. They offered us a seat in the larger area with live entertainment, and we took that offer.

The room was rustic, warm, and pleasantly chaotic, but it had the charm that I had hoped it would have. There seems to be so much local and national history on these walls. I encourage any future visitors to soak it in, and take a look at all of the years of memories throughout the building.

Upon finding out that it was our youngest's birthday, the owner made a very kind gesture of having the live entertainment acknowledge his 7th birthday and the whole building sang to him. imagine a hundred strangers singing to you who have never met you before! He has never felt so loved and accepted as he did at that moment.

The food was brilliant, and the cooks in the back sounded like they were having a great time in the kitchen, which points to a pleasant work environment! I recommend the Meat Pie, which I couldn't resist as it was a staple of my Acadian grandmother's recipe book. My wife had fish and chips, and it was a very large serving size! Staff was super friendly and attentive throughout the meal.

Finally, once completed, the staff went above and beyond again to make my youngest smile with delicious cake and ice cream. Everybody left with big smiles and full bellies, as we continued on our journey.

Thank you so much to the staff and owner of Le Gabriel. I hope that we'll be back to give you our service in the future!

Kid-friendliness: My kids felt like they were the only kids in the world while they were here. Staff is absolutely amazing!

Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. Says they are open until 8:30pm. Arrive at 8:15 pm. Entrance locked. I call. The man says “use the side entrance”. All signs point to the front “Main” entrance. I ask if they are still serving. He says till 8:30. It’s now 8:18. He says it’s 8:29pm and hangs up. Chéticamp used to be a cool place. Driving straight through from now on.

Dinner at Le Gabriel Restaurant and Lounge
I ordered the Crab legs. They were great as you can’t go wrong with Crab legs. However, the seafood chowder was gummy and inedible. The fish and chips were just OK. Nothing special. What really hurt this restaurant was the quality of the service. We did not receive our gin and tonic before dinner drinks or our wine that was supposed to come with dinner until AFTER the meal was served and only we had to ask multiple times. I did not receive my salad – meant to be an appetizer until after the meal was served. The place could have passed with a 3, but the service tanked – Rates 1 out of 5.
