This restaurant was recommended to us by friends, and on Saturday, 25 October, we set off from Port Hawkesbury to have dinner here. There were seven of us and we entered the half-full restaurant and politely asked for a table. A small, lively chap with a distinct Asian accent rudely brushed us off and explained that he was alone and couldn't serve such a large group. He wanted to spread us out over several tables, which we found ridiculous. Seven people are seven people, regardless of whether they sit together or at several tables. So we left this place hungry and frustrated and will in future spend our money where we are welcome. PS. We then found a restaurant in Baddeck where we were well served and treated to delicious food.

I had driven by and considered this restaurant many times , and then finally went in this fall. The food was mediocre best, but if I'm being honest it was less than mediocre. No care was taken in preparation of the food, the ingredients were poor quality, and the result is what you would expect in such a situation. The service was friendly, but as I was one of only two tables occupied it could've been a little better. From now on, I will just continue to drive by Gabriel's.

We ordered the clubhouse sandwich and the fish and chips. While the dishes were passable, we found the food to be rather bland, lacking seasoning.
The service, however, was prompt and efficient.
Instead of using newly printed menus, pieces of paper were taped over old prices, which was tacky. Additionally, the place has a dated feel, and the washrooms were not well-maintained, with a noticeable lack of cleanliness and an unpleasant odor.

Food was awful unfortunately. Poutine was soggy. Hamburger was tasteless and soggy with a liquified bun. Frozen fish in a fishing village!?

Figured Saturday night live music would be a good sign.: I was wrong. I walked in and the music was so loud the waitress couldn’t hear me. She told me they tried to get the musician to turn the speaker volume down but it’s “either his way or no music.” When the cod arrived it tasted like it had been pulled out of a freezer and microwaved. Fries were soggy. Veggies over cooked. The good thing is the musician likes to drink - got out of there as soon as he announced he was getting another beer. … Ears still ringing in pain.

Food was not very good, not much taste and felt disappointed. Place inside does need a lot of work, the bathroom door was held together with zip ties.
Did not know much information for allergy restrictions.
Server was very friendly.
Dog friendly on the patio was nice.

I ordered a hot hamburger and home fries. The meat didn’t taste like anything I have tasted before. The home fries were cold and the vegetables were awful. I returned it without eating anything. They did not charge me for the meal. I have eaten there before but I do think they must have changed ownership.

Gross. Everything we had was gross. The best part was eating a moldy French fry. Yuck. We sent two plates back. I have never eaten worse food. Super expensive for very cheap food. Our server was nice enough.

Very underwhelming experience. 20$ for a small basket of appetizers and 21$ for a Poutine is extremely overpriced. I do not recommend.
