It’s sad when a restaurant is this run down and dirty and empty. We walked back out and went to Nook & Cranny.

What a wonderful find. Amazing friendly staff. The seafood soup and lobster roll was outstanding. Highly recommended

Food was fabulous, sat outside on the deck, sun was shining. The service was great and I couldn't have asked for a better day to enjoy food outdoors. Great way to spend a summer afternoon.

We had one of the worst meals here at the Harbour House in our 12 years of travelling Nova Scotia. We were excited to try this new place for great seafood. My partner was given not fresh fish cooked from frozen (iykyk) the batter was the best thing on my partners plate. My plate was a chicken club that I couldn't bite through it was so dry and fries that were cooked in the oven. The waitress came and took my plate which only had two bites out of it and didn't ask if anything was wrong. Along with the bad food came an extremely long wait well over and hour to get our food with not many patrons in the restaurant. I don't usually have anything negative to say in these reviews but this time unfortunately it was warrented.

The chowder was hands down the best I have ever eaten. My husband had the parm crusted halibut. It was delicious. However the fries that came with the meal were minimal. That was very disappointing. For my sister in laws bday she wanted mussels. There was none. A suggestion could be that the server let the table know before the order?
The atmosphere of the restaurant was just ok. Greek salad was delicious.
Our experience was satisfactory.
It was a little pricey for what we got.

Quick stop in Pictou. I was hoping for lobster roll but it wasn’t on the menu.
Service was quick, we ordered a club sandwich combo & seafood linguine. Pasta had a good ratio of seafood to pasta. Food arrived hot and tasted great. Would definitely recommend and return again.

Absolutely the worst meal I have had in a restaurant in years. I odered the breaded haddock. I have written on a piece of paper thicker than my piece of fish and the paper would have had more flavour. Even drowning it with tasteless tarter sauce couldn't moisten the fish.
Fries were cold and burnt. Needless to say, I won't be back !!!!

We had a big group of 20 people and we were coming in on a Saturday. I called a week before to make a reservation and everything was good, but they didn’t ask for my phone number. When we showed up, they made up a story that they didn’t take reservations, and especially for groups of 20. They then made it sound like it was our fault we didn’t leave our number so they couldn’t tell us they don’t take reservations. They then offered to split our group up and spread us out around the restaurant, which was completely the opposite of what we wanted. The staff were happy when we offered to go somewhere else. We were going to get appies but decided to not give them our business because of this and just ordered drinks instead. Somehow drinks are difficult, because our order wasn’t taken until 30 minutes later, and they weren’t even busy. The servers were nice, however they messed up some drink orders and caused lots of confusion during the payment process. We definitely won’t be coming back here next year with a big group.

We dined there on July 13, was told a 35 minute delay for food which was find and acceptable.

Mocktail Cesar arrived so spicy could not be consumed without coughing, asked for water which took 25 minutes, food arrived, disgusting. Waitress didn’t ask why we were sending 2 almost full plates back. Just a suggestion- use fresh food and not frozen, my “casserole” was full of water in the bottom and was just disgusting to look at and not editable.

I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Parking: Hard to find parking if lot is full and street parking is full.

I went here for lunch today. I chose the restaurant because my daughter has celiac disease and needs a gluten free diet. They claimed that they had gluten free options. She ordered GF pasta with Parmesan cheese. The food arrived 45 minutes after ordering. The server brought a pasta dish with mushrooms for my daughter. We had to send it back, then they brought her what she ordered. Within 4 hours she was violently ill. She vomited up all of the pasta.
So, I would not recommend this restaurant for people with any dietary restrictions. Also, the service was so slow, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone!

Dietary restrictions: It is NOT a safe place to eat for people with any kind of dietary restrictions
