The Clove Hitch Bar & Bistro

We ate here with some friends from the West Coast on Aug 12, as we love the Clove Hitch and it was our recommendation! The food and music were great, we love Krista & Jay! However, our server (I believe her name was Hannah) was not great. We waited 1 hour & 45 minutes to get our food, watched 3 tables order, eat and leave before we did and we asked her 3-4 times if there was an issue or if we were forgotten and all we received was "yeah, it's a long wait sometimes. It's coming." We watched her chat with some younger folks for a while at another table as well, who also ate and left before us. We honestly almost got up to speak with a manager, when our food finally arrived. After we ate (don't get me wrong, the food was great!), we honestly thought maybe they'd comp a drink or two for the wait... but nothing. We said to our server that the wait as astonishing and she just gave a chuckle and handed us the bill and machine to pay. We apologized to our friends who promptly said the food was great, but they'd never be back. Very sad as we LOVE the food and what used to be the vibe. Hopefully it gets better :)

Good food, nice atmosphere, amazing music by Keira & Keigan! However the waitress provided the worst service I have ever had, luckily they have the most fantastic hostess I have ever seen, she made a bad experience much better!

The food and service were really good. However, we were a little shocked by the prices.

Fabulous food, great staff and entertainment. Really enjoyed a couple of meals here, wish we'd booked more time in Cape Breton to enjoy more of their hospitality.

Oh my goodness this restaurant is amazing. Service was fast, food was garnished and cooked to perfection, even the drinks were five-star. Every bite melted and lingered in my mouth, like heaven sent to earth. Atmosphere was homely and warm, lighting and decor were beautiful. Service was fast and waiters were kind. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to so far.

I adored this little spot so much that I had 4 meals here within 2 days. Food was fresh and flavorful. Fast WiFi. Nice patio. Pretty view. Staff works hard and is attentive. Music was the right volume. It gets busy so I definitely recommend making a reservation! As of my visit they were open 9am to 9pm.

There was a select breakfast menu from 9am to 11:30am, then lunch and entrees after 4:30/5pm ish.
