A group of us (5) visited, each of us having checked out the menu beforehand so had some ideas of what we wanted.
When we were seated, the server had a laundry list of items they were out of - pretty much everything ranging from steak right down to nachos.
We did find other stuff to order but that was disappointing.
Later, we mentioned to a different server about how busy they must have been to be out of everything, we were told that wasnt the case and its standard now which puts the servers in a really crappy position.
The food was good, lots of flavour and the onion rings were probably the best Ive ever had. Hopefully they either amend the menu to reflect what they have in stock on a regular basis or start having what is on the menu, available.

Dismayed and disappointed. A 10 minute wait but the place was only 1/3 full. Then a 45 minute wait for food — which was atrociously bad. How do you mess up fish ‘n chips and fish cakes with “valley fresh” salad? They did. At 7 pm on a Thursday they were already out of four of the main menu items. Staff were kind and friendly. Have dined here countless times over a decade for what used to be predictably delicious food, made with care. That’s not currently the reality, but hoping the new owners can turn things around.

My husband had the panfried haddock and I had the grilled halloumi and mushroom sandwich with a side salad. It was all delicious. The moonrise peach cidar was nice and light. Service staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back again soon

The menu list a bunch of options as gluten free (GF) or Gluten Free Options (GFO). Most of this is false. The use a common fryer for everything, so all of it is cross contaminated with wheat. You really need to up your game, get a dedicated GF fryer, or stop advertising that you serve GF food. Disappointing. CELIACS BEWARE!

Appetizer was good, the meal took forever. The seafood pasta was …ok, definitely not great. The 1/2 chicken was slimy, rubber boot leather, not edible and not enough veggies to fill up on. We have had many great meals here in the past and were soooo looking forward to a good meal. We won’t be back.

I called to ask if they have any vegan options today in August 2025 and they said they had no vegan options except maybe some salads or I could have the mushroom halloumi burger with no halloumi. So these people should be removed from Happy cow all together

Visited here twice while on vacation and will defiantly be returning when back visiting. All food we ordered was absolutely delicious, highly recommend ordering their signature chowder bowl if you love seafood.

The service was great as well, all staff was extremely friendly and kind.

Wow...
From start to finish overall was an awesome experience.
Besides the weather that was absolutely beautiful on the deck outside, the food was absolutely amazing.
My husband and I both had the fish with the valley salad, and the Calamari entrée, the food was 10/10... compliments to to chef.
I have had Calamari, but that was divine, and so soft and tasty and the lemon garlic Chipotle sauce with it drizzled wow 👌 👏...
The waitress/bar lady was amazing, friendly...
Thank you for the great experience will be back again.

From the moment we arrived, the service was unwelcoming. We asked if we could sit outside to enjoy the beautiful setting, especially since the restaurant was not busy. The waiter quickly said no, explaining it was because the baby’s high chair would “take up space.” After verification, there was plenty of space. The tone made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests.

When we requested a simple pasta with rosé sauce for our child, the waiter bluntly said no and that only plain white pasta was possible. The food then took over an hour to arrive. The calamari was not good and the portion was for 1 person. The waitresses barely smiled or acknowledged us.

Our drinks were also a letdown, our dirty martini came barely a quarter full, and the quality was poor. Overall, the attitude, long wait times, and subpar food and drinks left us very disappointed, which is a shame given the beautiful location.

When we sat done I picked up a menue of desserts. I was told to not bother looking. We have nothing on the menu. She said she would tell us what they had after dinner.
So hubby had fish and chips, so GREASY I donknow how he did it. I wanted a steak, they were out of that too. This was our anniversary so we thought this might be special. It was not. I asked for a cosmopolitan. What I got was so bitter, I couldn't drink it all. I had the bluberry cheesecake. I did NOT find it good. Our server was great !
