Home for a visit with my husband……best food we ate on our trip……it was like MA’s homemade Cooking. The staff were very kind and.friendly great food and service.

Good gluten-free options and very friendly staff

The food is hit and miss here. Mostly good. They just changed their menu recently and there are not many options I like. But if you like fish and chips and burgers you're in luck. It can become a very busy spot. So I recommend making a reservation.

Went here for supper with my wife awhile back. I hate dark meat so asked the waitress if she could have them leave it off the plate I did not want extra white meat just what would normally come with the meal. She said she would ask but probably would get yelled at. I kind of thought she was joking but minutes after you could hear screaming through the entire restaurant. I turned to see what was going on and it was a crazy cook screaming at the young girl while she tried to explain that I did not want any extra meat. But he insisted she charge me if I did not want the dark meet. We got up from the table and apologized to the waitress and told her to cancel the meals. Someone in the restaurant stated that the cook was like that when he worked screaming at the girls. No one should have to be treated like that by another employee. I called the owner and she could have cared less and was more interested in who told me he was like that. I would never go to this restaurant and support the kind of owner who would let this guy speak to my employees that way. I asked her if I ordered a hamburger and didn’t want the tomato on it would I be charged extra she failed to answer. So many great restaurants in the area that you can go to. Make the choice to go elsewhere and save a young girl from getting screamed at.

First time visiting. The food was fantastic and had a true homestyle cooking feel. You can’t find many places like this anymore. The portion sizes and prices can’t be beat. They also have a good selection of desserts.

Went for the second time this evening, and was very disappointed with not only the meal, but the level of service as well. I ordered the chicken parm, the chicken was fine, but the pasta and “sauce” was terrible. Waitress only came by our table once, shortly after we received our meals, and we never heard from her again. We eventually got tired of waiting for our bill and went up to the front counter to wait for someone to take our payment. I won’t be back anytime soon.

A must go place. Excellent cakes 🤤

This was the best place I have eaten in in a long time...fresh hot food and great prices...the chowder was delicious 😋 the fish was also delicious 😋

Great food great price

This was my first visit to the Miners Daughter restaurant. Had lunch with my beautiful cousin Karen who knew I would appreciate the atmosphere as I am a coal miners daughter myself. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, decor and the staff and food were delicious. The restaurant is beautiful decorated with nostalgia and the photos where like a walk down memory lane.

We had lunch in this lovely restaurant with friendly staff while we waited for the ferry. We ate the fish & chips and fish tacos which were delicious! The carrot cheesecake was incredible!!

I tried their turkey dinner poutine while and vacatiom and I think it was the best thing ever. I'm skipping big turkey dinner for Christmas this year and trying it myself since I can't order it to Ontario !

Came home for a visit and had lunch here with a friend! Service was outstanding and food was delicious, fastest friendliest Service I've encountered in a very long time!
