Not fine dining but good solid food. You will not be disappointed. We stopped in for lunch around Christmas, a party of three. We had the seafood chowder (of course), club sandwich and Thai soup. Everything very good. No complaints. Very convenient location and a very extensive menu! Best fries I have had in a long time. Service quick and reasonable priced. Better than most general diners in the area.

We had the seafood chowder, scallops, and cinnamon bun which were all delicious. Scallops were crispy on the outside, and melted like butter. Definitely going back next time we’re in the area!

Stopped here for lunch during our foliage trip between Cape Breton and PEI. Small local restaurant with a patio. We chose to eat in the dinning room. We had the Seafood Pot Pie and the Chicken Caesar Wrap. Both were good. Restaurant was busy for lunch. Street Parking is available.

My uncle and I road up to Tatamagouche and we stopped at the Chowder House for a bite to eat. He had their haddock which he really enjoyed, and I had their burger which was excellent.

Not sure how it's possible to cook burger and on top, I've asked for no tomato on it. I got one with tomato and they just took it off. Never asked if I'm allergic to tomatoes.

If you are looking for a quick meal, I'm not sure this is the place. Everything is made from scratch, and is so fresh. My wife had the fish pie, and still raves about it. It's a great spot, in a wonderful coastal NS town.

Excellent breakfast. Hot food. Service could be better. We've been before and the service was good. Perhaps just an off day.

For a place called the chowder house, the chowder at this establishment was terrible. It had very little seafood, the base was obviously not homemade and was served lukewarm at best. The chowder came with two loonie sized pieces of bread. We will not be coming back.
