“I am going to give this a 5 star based on its Donairs and shawarma I am a Donair snob, grew up near where they were invented and had many. Derado's is my Donair place on the North Shore. Wonderful. Sometimes a little over peppery but that's ok. The swarms (+pickles who knew?) are really good. Tried the pizza once but not for me, but obviously popular around here. So donairs + swarms absolutely an oasis.”
“Awesome homemade meals. As always, I had the chili which is absolutely some if the best you'll have. Always have to pick up baked goods and other locally sourced products.”
“Sandwich was well made, restaurant was clean and Staff was friendly, enthusiastic and provided excellent customer service with fresh energy even though it was end of the day.”
“We were staying at the nearby Train Station Inn and stopped by Big Al's upon recommendation from a friend. It was quite busy - ended up finding a parking place out back and made our way in. Luckily we were able to be seated quite quickly.Staff were quite friendly and helpful, food was tasty and more than ample portions - we didn't go hungry here! Definitely will b back!”
“Great place to visit, good food, friendly faces. Owner was cooking all by herself in the heat, and was totally understanding when I didn't have cash, she pointed me in the direction of a bank near by and I was able to get back and the food still be nice and warm. Good size portions too. Could tell that the egg rolls are actually homemade and not frozen like most places too. Very impressed by that.”
“Broaster chicken with a beer is awesome. I travel from Oxford every other weekend to have the chicken. Its that good. The one person staff is always busy, but manages to give good service to all. A must try when in the area”
“Stopped in for a beer after a brutal 2 mile hike. I was soaked in sweat from my nips to my nuts (had a little gouche brew going myself, hope no one smelled, sorry) but the Hippie Dippie Pale Ale was so darn crisp and refreshing that I had to have 2, cheers!”
