Island View Restaurant

We travel from Dartmouth just for their clams. Soo disappointing this week!! The clams were pieces, small and rubbery. We understand that they have suffered a sad loss of a co- owner. I hope they can keep up with the wonderful quality of food that keeps us coming back.

Plate full of clams. $21! Great price and delicious.

Sadly, there was a sign in the door June 14 th, 2025 that stated the restaurant is closed indefinitely due to the passing of the co- owner .

A true hidden gem for real food lovers! The traditional dishes are absolutely incredible—authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Their desserts are just as impressive, and the staff? Genuinely some of the warmest and most attentive people you’ll meet. An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish.

I don't want to rate because I didn't try the food. Just wanted to warn everyone that the restaurant is closed currently. They had notice on the door. Unfortunately to see this note, you have to come to the door. Hopefully I will have another chance to try their food and I will change my rate

Food was good. Waitress was fantastic. It was the kitchen service that was the reason for the low service score. We were a party of 5 and 3 of us got our food in a timely fashion but the other 2 meals were served about 5 minutes after the first 3 were served.

Had clams and chip, My mom had fish and chips and my husband had Seafood Chowder.
My husband recieved his chowder first. We however had to wait almost 15 more minutes for ours. This has happened twice to us. All your food should be serve to your table all at once. My husband was done his before we even got ours. And I always thought seafood chowder consists of some fish,clams, scallops and lobster. But when my husband received his it had lots of fish a few clams and potatoes.
As for mom and the fish and clams were good but the fries weren't done enough.. our waitress however was very pleasant.

Almost always huge portions, excellent quality cooked food and service!! Pricing isn't bad either compared to most places around the surrounding area.

I am hoping we caught the staff on an "off day". No one came to our table to see if everything was OK. We even had to track down our waitress to get our bill. Will visit again though

Fish was not fresh, fries were frozen, batter was mush, coleslaw and service was good. Overall a 2.5.

Edit one year later. Looks like they lost their way. Fish was chewey, overcooked and mostly batter on 2 pieces of the 3 piece meal. We did not complain after witnessing another person's feedback met with a "deer in lights" reaction. This place could be great. And probably still is by chance. Not sure....
