“We went on a day trip on our ATV's and stopped in for a meal at Island View. The food and service was fantastic. I have to say though, the people we passed along our journey through the area seemed to be very anti-ATV and gave us dirty looks and seemed very snobby.”

“I stopped coming to this place a long time ago because of a really unpleasant experience with one of the guys working there, who was quite rude to me. After a long time, I decided to give this place another chance, and I’m honestly glad I did. This time, the girls working there were absolutely lovely. They were friendly, welcoming, and handled everything so calmly even though the place was extremely busy. We ordered our food, and the service was surprisingly quick. It was really nice to see such happy, smiling faces and such a positive atmosphere, especially during such a busy time. This experience completely changed my impression of the place. Great service, kind staff, and a much better experience overall. I’ll definitely be happy to come back again!”

“We stopped in last weekend on our way through Chester Basin and were glad we did, the harbor view from the window seats made it hard to leave. My husband got the seafood chowder and couldn't stop talking about it, while I had a lemon poppyseed muffin that was still warm. The woman behind the counter chatted with us about the area like we were old friends and even pointed us toward a nice lookout down the road. Parking right out front made it easy too, we'll definitely stop by again next time we're out this way.”

The pub has a nice fishing atmosphere.

The chowder is very good.
I had the seafood risotto, which was excellent. Lots of shrimp, scallops and lobster. Very well cooked.

They have a bunch of NS beers on tap too.

Definitely worth stopping in.”

“For a 100 year old plus restaurant it was pretty good. My group enjoyed the beet salad and a bean burger.
My burger was definitely from a frozen patty. The chips were excellent.
The service was good. Gracie was very personable and nice. A tad bit slow on drink refills, but nothing too bad.”

“We decided to visit the island on a whim today with our kids and didn’t bring enough food, so we started feeling a bit anxious on the ferry. Luckily, as we walked up the hill, the little shop happened to be just opening—perfect timing!

We ordered burgers, fries, and homemade ice tea—and wow, everything was way better than we expected! It wasn’t just because we were hungry; you could really taste the care and heart that Patrick put into preparing the food.

We also got some ice cream, and Patrick even gave a small souvenir to each of our kids. It was such a kind gesture, and the whole experience turned into a beautiful family memory.

Honestly, we might come back to the island just for Patrick’s handmade tea or those amazing burgers. Highly recommend!”
