We were one night on the island and decided to go to the Grandview on Brier. We were seated right away and ordered two seafood chowder, fish and chips and a hamburger. We waited more than 30min for the soup and as another customer review already mentioned it tasted blend and there was not really fish in it. It was the worest chowder iI ever ate. For the main dishes we had to wait another 35 min altough the restaurant wasn't full. After we challenged the wait time we were told that this isn't McDonald's. The main dish wasn't enough, assuming they want to sell the very overpriced desserts. Overall the price value is totally bad and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all. They get away with it because there are they only restaurant on the island.

5 stars across the board! My husband and I got married last month on a whale tour boat off of Brier Island and for our dinner “reception” afterwards we had the pleasure of dining at the Grandview. We had a group of 20 total, I had coordinated with Katherine via email leading up to the day regarding meal choices and cost, and they were able to accommodate our big group (“accommodate” is certainly an understatement!). Katherine was so lovely and extremely helpful. Markus and Seth were working the front end that night and were both so attentive and kind. Our whole group had so much fun, the food was exceptional, and the cake they provided for our wedding celebration was out of this world!! Everyone had nothing but fantastic things to say about the food, our guests are still raving. The team went above and beyond to make our special day even more special through many small details and extras, and we will never forget their generosity, hospitality and dedication to great service. Even picked bouquets of wildflowers for centrepieces for us… they left us speechless! If Google allowed, I would give them 10 stars. 🥲 It was perfect!

Great service and atmosphere. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food is wonderful. Fresh fish cooked correctly and veggies from their greenhouse. Will definitely return.

We spent our last evening having dinner at the Grandview on Brier Island and it was fabulous. We both had the seared scallops dinner and it was divine. The scallops were expertly prepared and the garden fresh vegetables were perfect. We ended our meal with a scrumptious peach and apple crisp for dessert. The staff were all great and our server was very welcoming and kind. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went there for lunch but they were closed to get prepared for supper. However they offered us takeout of fish and chips only. We got 3 orders of 1 piece. $22 each order. Way too expensive plus the fact they charged 15% tip after we tapped skip on our visa card. Didn't notice it until much later. I don't mind tipping for service but for takeout? NO WAY. WILL NOT GO BACK.

Great restaurant with beautiful views attached to the Brier Island Lodge. We had the fish and chips and their burger with house salad made from veggies they grow in their greenhouse on site. Everything was super tasty and all the staff are super friendly. It was the only place we ate at during our stay at the Brier Island Lodge as after our first meal there, we did not even want to eat anywhere else! We will absolutely be back on a future road trip!

Wonderful food! The best haddock chowder I have ever had. Great fishcakes, scallops and breakfast too. Fresh produce and herbs from the garden and house made breads - wonderful!

came in here today before my whale watching tour, and it was absolutely the best decision i’ve made today! i called ahead as i was unsure of their hours given the holiday, and a kind man answered and said they were open! when we got there the place was clean and felt like a home. so comforting! since we were so early, there wasn’t exactly a set menu: just a selection of a few meals made with the freshest ingredients available. we ordered the haddock burger and fish and chips and WOW! so good!! fish was so soft and fresh and the fries were freshly fried. the lettuce was crunchy and not wilted, and the bun was so soft! the people working here are so kind and it truly makes visitors like myself and my family feel safe and comfortable!

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been to for a restaurant visit. If not the most beautiful.
The friendly staff and the very good food round the whole thing off perfectly.
Definitely worth a recommendation. Both for a breakfast at sunrise or a dinner at sunset. A fantastic view of the Gand Passage.

We got the burgers and fries, and the special which was fish tacos. Everything was so good! Staff were very nice and it was convenient to be able to get takeout after a long day! The view from the restaurant is beautiful.

Excellent food and service. Portions a bit small for a big guy like me but I really appreciate quality and atmosphere. 5 stars.

The atmosphere is good, the food is basic. I intended to eat something else but it turned out that there was only Sunday Brunch ? so I had to eat what was on the menu. The service was good ?

Staff were friendly. Views were amazing. Food was over priced. $22 for Fish and Chips was a little steep. We left and went for a drive down the coast and found a pub that had better prices.

I have a gluten allergy so eating out can be tricky some times, while on vacation in rural Nova Scotia I did not have high expectations after a few bad mom and pop places. We ended up coming here on a whim and I am so extremely glad that we did. I had one of the best meals out I have ever had in years since becoming gluten intolerant. I asked the server what options I could have that where GF and he gave me a few choices and modifications they could offer for me. I ended up ordering the pan fried Haddock, most restaurants will do this for me however there is never any breading on the fish, they just pan fry in garlic and butter. Here they had a corn flour breading and my god it was the best fish I have ever had! Even the potatoes and veggies were amazing! Everything was so fresh and well prepared. The quality was absolutely amazing and everything had so much flavor! I'm sad I live so far away from here or else this would be my go to place for sure. They even had a GF brownie for dessert, my husband and I decided to share and he even thought it was amazing (he's not GF). I can't say enough good things about this place, the food was great and the staff where so friendly. On our way out there must have been a half dozen staff who all smiled , waved us off and wished us a great evening. Even though the location is a bit out dated, the staff there do a great job at keeping it clean and you can really see the pride and care they have at this place.
