My husband and I popped in after a stage performance in Wolfville. I use to love Scotskins, but I don't get in that way often so I was definitely going to take advantage. When we walked in, we were told to sit anywhere so we sat at a little two seat table within eyesight of the bar and immediately we had our menues... then we waited. Two groups who came in after us were given their drinks and one already had their order placed. We still didn't even have water. We left and went somewhere else. At this other pub, we received our whole order in the time we waited at Joe's.

$14.99 for a TINY piece of OVERCOOKED fish with NO CHIPS!!!!! +$3.99 for a mostly lettuce side salad, I'm very disappointed in Joe's for joining in on the price gouging like this tsk tsk

But it's their CUSTOMER SERVICE that's so ABUSIVE it's unforgivable! look how they treat a longstanding 10 year regular weekly patron, they publicly accused of me of being 'out of touch with reality' for expecting fish AND chips and said I was a LIAR by giving 'false and uniformed opinions' but they're not false, I have a pic of the tiny fish and 10 years of eating the same meal makes me very informed, making this absolutely DEFAMATORY and entirely unacceptable.

So yes, we'll definitely be 'calling around other businesses' from now on and I'll make sure people see that this is how you respond to your longstanding customers when they're unhappy that you've changed your portion size and dropped your standards.

I'm glad you appreciate the feedback, I'm sure with this kind of attitude - you'll get lots more! You're very welcome

My 80 yr old mother and my great aunt were mistreated by Joe's staff last night! Told they were out of their minds for expecting fries when they ordered their fish and chips online for the first time. The owner publicly called them liars and told them to go elsewhere! I think it's Joe's that are out of their minds if they think the public will tolerate them berating old ladies!

We had a great time and the food was ok, but our server Brooke was so ditsy and engaged in the weirdest convo with little interest. Also, there was a couple from Nigeria behind us who came in before we did and wasn’t even served water or asked what they wanted to drink until we got our food, so that’s about 30 minutes. Please do better because Brooke was also their server.

I liked the place and Ainslie's service is very good. We stopped by to have a beer and something to eat on a rainy day..
We ordered a Scott skinis with extras and a very good option
I recommend it and we will surely return

We have a Great sunday lunch date at Joe's, my fiancee's favorite restaurant in her favorite town. Weather was nice, food was superb, were eating in the patio underneath a maple tree. What more can we ask for?😁☀️ Of course kudos to Nathan for a great, prompt and cool service 👏

Great spot for casual eats and drinks. Very reasonably priced for significant portions. Joe's has been around for decades so they are doing it right. We had ScottSkins and the Axemen burger, very good. The fries are fantastic as well.

Where to even start 🤔
Well for one, best potato skins I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite had me “OMG’ing”. I feel like I’ve never actually had potato skins before because these were amazing. Also I got the main course I had ordered (hot turkey sandwich) and figured no way could it be as good as the potato skins. It was also amazing. So so good. The portions are also really big. I’m pretty sure I had more than half to take home. The waitress was checking on us frequently and was incredibly nice. And it’s such a cute little spot.
But in all honesty their food there makes me never want to eat anywhere else ever again, because it will only disappoint in comparison. One of the best restaurants and one of the best meals I’ve had in a very very long time.
Also forgot to mention their menu is huge. 4 pages front and back, so so many options. Can not wait till I can go back.

Vegetarian options: They did have vegetarian options! Salad section and also vegetarian options on the regular food items.

Parking: The restaurant is on a Main Street in wolfville. So parking can be difficult however there is a parking lot across the street that we parked in that has 3 hour free parking.

Wheelchair accessibility: I did notice they have no steps going to their restaurant and they had a ramp going into the restaurant. And a wheelchair could be put at any table easily.

Solid spot, can't exactly say it was fine dining or catered to a specific niche or cuisine, but it had some very standard pub food.

The fish and chips were actually quite nice, but the famous potato skins were pretty rough. Kinda just a pile of old potatoes dumped with Lawry's. But hey what can you do. Not a bad spot to fuel up before a big ol wolfville day

Our waitress was phenomenal, very friendly, and very observant. We never had an empty glass or empty plate sitting around. And the food was absolutely delicious. 10/10 will definitely be returning and bringing even more people to try it.

As a group of 5 adults and two small children, we had lunch at Joe's. We ordered a bunch of starters. They were all very good, especially the Scots (potato) Skins. The waitress was great, and very friendly. We highly recommend Joe's!
