Food was great and so was service. It’s a busy spot, we didn’t wait long but heard other people waited a decent amount of time.
We really enjoyed the cauliflower bites and the chicken wings. I took a picture of the turkey bacon club, it was good , a little too much bread for me
We went to Church a ton this past summer as they have the best patio (IMO).
Drinks - 6/10 as we don’t drink, but there’s a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks. HOWEVER, they are insanely marked up. They sell Nono Spritz from Dartmouth, BB Piquette Zero and the Nomad NA beer - all local options (love that) but each are $8-10 for one! I’ve bought these options from Lightfoot and other restaurants in the valley for no more than $6 for one. BB also sells their cans 4 for $12 ($3 each) in their retail shop but Church sells for $8-9. More than double the price is crazy work. The only reason we kept going back was because the patio has great sun and good vibes.
Food - 7/10 as sometimes just inconsistent cooking (either done or overdone; never under). I really love their wings, but honestly nothing else stands out.
Overall, it’s a nice place for an appetizer and a drink when it’s sunny out, but I wouldn’t dine in during the rest of the year.
The fish and chips were outstanding and the chowder was a poetry 🥰 soooo good
Food is not great and extremely overpriced. Bar staff short and don't really seem like they want to be there. Waitresses are great but overworked.
Delightful property...an old Wolfville church with so much history. This was my first time here. I thoroughly watching all the patrons enjoying this very BUSY pub...a testament to the pub food, right?
Loved that, where we'd see hymns listed, now we see church beers! Pictures included.
I ordered fish and chips...a Maritime favorite...with a glass of Illuminate Pale Ale. I am an old woman, rarely drink beer, but it was a HOT Nova Scotia day, so I indulged. The beer was delightful, light, with a hint of mango.
Thi chips were grand, light and crisp, perfect for ketchup dipping. The battered fish...interesting...I enjoy light, flaky battered fish. This wasn't it. The batter was okay...nice and crisp...but the fish was heavy and chewy...not my taste at all...but I'm sure that MANY other patrons enjoyed it, just like that. After a couple of bites, I left it. My young server was great, and attentive. I did mention my concern to him, and he reduced my fish and chips by 50%, GOOD business practice.
Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY. Great service, and ready to try some new pub food.
Gorgeous building, fantastic food and staff. We had the rose sangria, and Heart of Gold amber lager along with our chicken sandwiches. Great spot and great for dates!
Great ambiance and friendly staff and the beer selection is good. However, every time I go it seems that the blackened haddock dish gets smaller and more expensive. Think I'm going to look for alternate options in Wolfville.
Nice place to visit!
Wow! I'm writing this review as it is similar to one just 3 weeks ago. If you have dietary restrictions, avoid this place. The beer, atmosphere, and food were great, EXCEPT, I asked if the Peppers in the Sesame Ginger Noodle Bowl could be removed, and the server said no problem. On ordering, both my wife and I asked to have them removed due to my mild allergy (bloating and cramping). Again assured me no problem. When the bowl arrived, the Peppers were plainly visible all over the Bowl. I immediately sent it back and ordered something different. Fortunately for me it was something clearly visible. Very sloppy concern for the customer's well being. I don't think the manager was informed. Simple I'm sorry, and full bill.
Church brewing company, excellent dinner. Haddock, veggies on rice was absolutely fantastic. Hot and flavorful. Lauren our server was fantastic

So we stopped by. They had said they were going to be open at 11:00, it was 11:40 and they were still closed so hopefully next time they'll be open. This is just a shot from the outside. Looks pretty cool. There was another fella at the front door after I got there and he was told the same thing that they would be open at 11:00. So he was shocked that they were still closed. He's been going there a long time. He remembers when it was an actual church so it was cool to meet him. Parking is not the best but it is what it is.
Food was delicious, service was incredible, we all enjoyed our meal, and the vibe in the restaurant! We will definitely be back!
The Church is a wonderful brewery/restaraunt nestled in the quaint college town of Wolfville. The building itself is a beautifully reconditioned church with a fabulous inside as well as outside landscaping that adds flavor to the whole experience. The food is some of the best I've had in Nova as many of the ingredients are from local farmers in the valley and beyond. The list of brewed beer is fabulous as well as offerings from local wineries. And the staff is so friendly and inviting. Myself and my team at photographinginthemoment (insta) truly enjoyed the experience and will be back.
The wife and I took a nice Fall drive on a Sunday to eat here for her first time.
Super unique dining experience in an old church.
We had a bit of a wait for a table (about 30 minutes) but the food was fantastic, service was excellent as well.
I had fish & chips. She had the turkey bacon club. They have a great selection of in-house brewed beers, but neither of us were feeling a drink today.
All in all, it was a great experience. We'd go back again.
Disappointing to come at 4pm in the afternoon see 10 empty tables on the outside and be told a 45 minute wait. Typically with wait times like that it’s because all tables are full. Clearly understaffed and should look at better managing the schedule better.
