Got the Buffalo Chicken Fries...and boy were they good...Highly Recommend

Easily one of the best fried chicken i ever had. It seems like a small family owned buissness. The sauces are like. Home made and top tier. It really is worth visiting this city to taste The Chicken Shack.

I’m leaving this review because I think the health department needs to check this place out. The moment I walked into the restaurant, it smelled strange. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I didn’t want to inconvenience my family, so I didn’t say anything. It didn’t seem very clean and felt run-down.

After ordering, my family and I waited outside for the food. We saw two separate groups of people leave before ordering. One group was talking loudly about how they could smell the rotten seed oil and that they would never eat there. That’s when it dawned on me.

The food was overpriced, and we had already ordered and been waiting for 15 minutes. We decided to wait and see if the food also smelled bad and ended up waiting another 10 minutes. Sure enough, our food did smell, and after a little research, rotten seed oil was the only explanation for that very distinct odor.

I couldn’t bear to eat my food and completely lost my appetite. I felt bad for the woman working there, as it seemed she and maybe one other person were doing the work of four or more people. She seemed stressed, and the wait time was unusually long considering the type of food and the fact that only one person had ordered before us.

Anyway, I hope this prevents others from making the same mistake we did by going here. I’m disappointed and frankly disgusted.

Chicken was on the dryer side but nonetheless was great. I got the Buffalo Chicken Fries.

This place really hit the spot for wings and fries! The staff is super helpful when it comes to picking the meal/right sauce—they’ll even bring you a sample to try before you decide. I’d 100% recommend to anyone. Great location too, not far from the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead!

Ordered food to go on our way out of Boulder City.

Service was fine, wouldn't say friendly but quick and easy ordering. Restaurant itself needs a little revamping or a good clean on the inside. My two meals took about 15 mins to be finished. Drink machine seemed to be lacking CO2 as both of our sodas were flat.

We didn't get to eat our food until about 45 mins later until we got home in Vegas. The tenders were a great size and seasoned nicely. My husband got the tenders with a garlic parm rub and enjoyed it. I tried Jamaican jerk sauced wings. The sauce itself was veryyyy heavy on the clove flavor and it was unfortunately too much for me. Just plain next time for me. The wings itself were huge and crispy even with the sauce! Fries were even crispy still after 45 mins.

Overall, great spot for tenders and fries for sure!

Chicken Shack really hit the spot! The chicken was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The fries were hot, golden, and just the right amount of seasoning. I also tried the hamburger, and it was surprisingly great, fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. On top of the good food, the people working there were super friendly and welcoming. Great vibes all around. Definitely coming back!

Our order was a good 4*. They give you fresh fried chicken and fries. Plenty of outdoor seating, not much inside and the inside smells of years old cooking oil; it'll stick to you. Service was nice enough, although the young lady at the counter wasn't clear with the next customer and t. get her point across, she really raised her voice. She did come back to apologize to everyone afterwards, but still made the situation uncomfortable for all. I'd stop come back

Restaurant is absolutely disgusting and the manager is so rude. I had to block this establishment for pick up orders because I refuse to deliver food poisoning to my customers.

This was our first time visiting The Chicken Shack in Boulder City, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing — mainly due to the behavior of the woman working, who seemed to be the manager, cashier, and server all in one.

We were unfamiliar with the menu, and I initially placed our order but came back shortly after because my wife wanted a different sauce. Instead of being understanding or helpful, she responded with a rude and condescending attitude, almost lecturing me as if I had done something wrong. It was embarrassing, especially in front of other customers, and all I wanted was some basic clarification.

Later, I was standing near the soda station and she suddenly shouted that I couldn’t stand there. I asked her, “I can’t stand here?” and again, her tone was unnecessarily aggressive. It felt like I was being singled out and treated as a problem rather than a customer. I had already told her we were sitting outside since we had our dog, so there was no reason for the hostility.

At one point, I took a photo of the place — and that’s when she came outside to apologize. Her exact words were something like, “I saw you took a picture and that you’re going to post a Yelp review, so I’m going to apologize.” To me, it felt like the apology wasn’t sincere, but more because she realized she got caught. By that point, I was already upset and too embarrassed to say anything, especially with a line of people behind me who witnessed the whole interaction.

We were genuinely hungry and excited to try this place, but the way she treated me completely ruined the experience and killed our appetite. It’s unfortunate how one person’s attitude can change your whole mood. I hope management takes this seriously, because no customer should be made to feel that way — especially not on their first visit.
