Disappointing to say the least, clean quiet place good service but the food was sooo sad, I felt like I was served somebody's left overs!! the veggies I had on the side of my pork chop were the exact ones you'd get on a veggie tray, not cooked or buttered but served cold or the same temp as my mashed potatoes I was so excited to try this place but maybe just stick with the night life and dancing leave the cooking and food for another place.

My birthday is in a few days, my husband took me out for the night. Originally we're from up the hill in Tahoe but he had wanted me to step out away from Tahoe since the fires. Upon arrival, we were sat a table with too many people crowded over not enough space. The server was polite at first. I ordered the grand slam burger and I was told they had run out. That was the first mistake. Second mistake my husband ordered drinks that took so long to get there that we thought of leaving. The service wasn't too long but it wasn't quick either. It wasn't too busy so I felt it should've been faster. To top it all off The server got my order wrong. It seems the employees were there to hang out opposed to work. The owner allows her employees to drink on the job apparently, I seen two of the servers take shots and have their own drink. I thought this was a place of business not a club? The reviews made this seem like a nice old school dive bar. They had young kids working there drinking on the job, talking all over the place, being overly talkative and acting as if they were here to drink and party. My husband had to hold his tounge so many times. We ended up leaving without finishing our food and went down the street to another local bar to finish our night. This place was unprofessional, too many drunk or drinking workers and not enough service. Does the health department know they have employees drinking on the job? I can only imagine what the kitchen looks. Night ruined!

I really enjoy it there. Friday nights in good weather has been outdoor entertainment. I've never eaten there I just visit the bar in the entertainment. Four and a half Stars.

I was very impressed with this restaurant. It was a beautiful evening in Carson City and it was nice to get away from the smoke in Reno as Carson City had a nice breeze. Living the Good Life had sponsored our Reno Blues Society membership event and the parking lot was blocked off for a blues band and tables outside. Aside from some people bumming cigarettes from the patrons, it was planned out perfectly. I did not eat, only imbibed, but I asked to look at the menu. Very impressive menu with seafood, meats, and pasta. I will be back to taste the food. The servers were spot on, friendly, and quick to serve. I did not go inside, but I think there is some gaming in there.

I wish I could give crappy smelling dive less than one star! After being seated on a bench covered with duck tape and was very hard like wood planks we smell a wave of sewer smell. Then it leaves and we order our food. My wife gets the shrimp Alfredo. Substituted for chicken. I ordered the chicken piccata pizza. The food came and my pizza was charred black underneath. So burnt that you could smell it. The waitress came back and saw it was burnt and said we'll make you another pizza. I said make it a pepperoni, this chicken is two busy. My wife's shrimp Alfredo was more like a bowl of soup, and grossly over salted. Then the sewer smell came back with a vengeance! So my wife goes to the waitress to let her know. Then she gets the owner, a lady who is obviously extremely high maintenance and so pretentious about her importance it was nauseating! She tells us that yes sometimes there is a sewage smell problem. But it is not do to any problems with their restaurant but because of the rain. The owner said the rain causes the sewer smell to cover Glen Eagle and Fox & Firkin and many other restaurants. That in the winter it is really bad. So it rained lightly maybe 15 minutes. Not enough to create any sewage back flow or smell. The smell was not outside, just in the area where we were seated not to far from the restrooms. As she was excusing the inexcusable my second pizza came. At this point we just wanted to leave. My wife was nauseated due to the combination of bad Alfredo sauce, shrimp, sewer smell, and lame excuses for crappy food and stinky sewage smell. So we paid 60 dollars for one plate of salty shrimp Alfredo, one beer, and a pizza. They boxed up my pizza and we left while driving home I took a slice of the Pizza and guess what??? It was undercooked, the dough was raw in the center. I could not even make this pizza eatable at home in the oven. I have eaten pizza from New York to LA. I had some not so good pizza and some phenomenal pizza! Living The Good Life made the worst pizza I ever ate. The absolute worst! My wife ate a small portion of the Alfredo Shrimp and was sick all night. She'll be calling the Heath department first thing Monday morning. So for a fine dining experience with sewage ambiance, and high prices come to Living the Good Life, cause ya got to keep miss high maintenance in extended finger nails, extra face paint, and mine you eating and puking can be expensive! Better yet just stay away. On the positive side the waitress was really good. She tried to help, and she was very pleasant!

Nice band outside. It took awhile to get our order but it wasn't their fault. They wanted to make it right but we were ok with the wait.

A wonderful restaurant in every way.Reasonably priced and well made drinks.Food thatakes your mouth water and your wallet stay fat. Staff that knows they're doing.Love music like nowhere else in Carson city or even Reno! The owner is a legend - having run restaurants and night clubs since the 70's he has not only met and served some of the most famous rock and roll idols ever, but he definitely knows how to make a restaurant the place to be for good times and great eats.Go on Friday evenings for outdoor music or enjoy the inside tables and/or bar for a more conventional dining experience.Second best restaurant in Carson city, first best place for live entertainment.
