Combat Veteran with 3 children was referred by Nation’s Finest and Reno VA. An application was taken and we were told resources were not available to us. We were then asked to take shelter in a nearby motel, that was paid by myself with rude staff and deplorable conditions. Called back the next morning for additional help and resources and was told they could not assist us with an abrupt disconnect phone call. As I looked over the reviews on this website, I noticed I am one of few people of color that asked for assistance from this place. I cannot help but to think perhaps my skin color played a major part in getting the assistance I desperately needed. I am a combat veteran that fought for this country and I’m truly mortified and disappointed with the outcome I received here. If you are a person of color please do not reach out to this organization. Search elsewhere for assistance.

The "crime wave" previously allowed to use/abuse their mail service, is now the (sub) "standard" used on everybody.Flat mail - only‼ no packages, at all, not Christmas or any! Result, get mail "privileges" ended, & maybe get kicked out ! Homeless & no mail - I just can't wait ! Be Well, Do Good Works, but keep in touch - maybe yes, maybe no . . .

I'm not sure why they only decided to pay one month's rent when I am eligible for more. I told them upfront that I won't have an income until September. And that is when I start my new job. They even questioned why my start date was so far off. I have no idea. After hearing that they've paid 90 days or more for other people in similar situations, I'm really concerned even more than before. I had to beg for help and was crying and literally shaking while they were telling me I'm not eligible. Belinda even asked for a print out of my medical information. I just don't believe they treated others this way. I'm not sure if it is how I was dressed. I always try not to look like I'm going through hell. I try to look my best with what I have(all clothes donated to me free). Or my nationality. But I was judged immediately upon arriving and was told it would be an all day wait. The receptionist offered a phone call. I told her i had just walked over an hour and am really hot. She then magically got me seen in about 20 to 30 minutes. I'm not sure why they operate this way. But they were trying hard to disqualify me. I had to tell them personal and embarrassing details. I felt very degraded. Even after all of that, they still gave me the least amount of help, knowing I needed help with August rent as well. When I went back for assistance, Erika said she knew I would come back and she was afraid of this. And that I am only eligible for one month. I'm not sure why that is.When I asked for copies of documents I signed and for a denial letter, they refuse to provide it to me. I explained that I need these to possibly get assistance elsewhere. They still won't provide it. Not sure what they have to hide. But I'm hoping they are audited and investigated soon. I'm not entitled and have been working all my life. I just had some set backs and trying to get back up. I just want to be treated fairly. And if they can't help at least provide a denial letter so I can show that I am not receiving benefits from other sources. All this took place in front of my daughter. She should never have to see her mother degraded by anyone especially other women who should care. I can't wait to get back on my feet. I'm going to build an organization to help women. As women we should know the harm in abusing other woman. Even if we can't help, they can walk away knowing that they matter and are cared for. Not feeling low, sold and degraded.Since I was denied assistance for the month of August, I went back to another non profit agency that denied me because my studio apartment is considered a motel, to seek an appeal to provide documentation proving that I have a one year lease, and the property has both one bedroom and studio apartments. Sadly, I found that they have been communicating with the director Joyce at Ronwood regarding my case. And have been working together instead of working with me. Ronwood has even provided the Division Manager Mary, with a copy of my lease. I requested to provide Mary my lease to prove I live in a studio apartment, not a motel. Mary stated that she has reviewed my lease and verifications already. But that is impossible because when I returned to provide all my documentation, including the birth certificate for my child, I was told they don't need it because I don't qualify because I live in motel. So I never provided anything but only completed the initial application. Their policy is they cannot even move forward with the process without such documentation. Mary even wrote a letter stating she received all verifications and has concluded the appeal. Mary also knew that Ronwood paid for July's rent. She mentioned it and said they are out of funding.I am devastated that they have shared my confidential information without my permission. I didn't know they could do that. I guess that's the cost of living in a small town where everyone communicate. It's still very wrong and both Ronwood and the other company shou

When Volunteering always hold onto your stuff. Even a small piece off your phone case can disappear when your phone is sitting on a desk and you're helping someone.

They left the dumpster unlocked back to baiting me again and exploiting PTSD. especially bringing familiar faces back around. All part of the Journals and Narratives.

They have help my mom in the past, but knowing how she is, I over heard how they treated her and 86 her to not come back anymore.I know people have there limits, but this establishment is for helping who are in need, especially those on SSI. It be like working at Well Fair and expecting a homeless person to have proper mind set to function.

Ronwood food pantry has been a lifesaver for me, I’m a disabled senior with very low monthly income. The food I receive gets me healthy meals I cook myself allowing me to pay rent and Utilities. I am able to keep my Car insurance up and also maintain it, so that I can help other seniors in the area with rides through seniors in Service.
