Wow…. (Not a Good wow)Where do I even start. We have visited San Marcos numerous times and it is normally a good experience. This time was a nightmare. We had a party of 10 that consisted of 5 kids and 5 adults. The server was *JORGE GARCIA*(worse service ever) we ordered our meals and everything was great at this point. The food came and there was issues right away received Tacos instead of taquitos fine we will just tell them no problem. WE tell Jorge and he decides to argue and say NO that’s what you ordered and rolled his eyes at us. Probably rolling his eyes reading this. I remember and didn’t want to swap it out. The kids whose meal it was said that’s fine I’ll eat it. We get to the end of our meal and unfortunately the food here has gone down hill just like the service but we didn’t complain. We got our check and it was two different families and the check needed to be split. Jorge said we don’t do that here with his same attitude as before…. I said I know you can you have before and I need you to do that. He storms off and looks like he doesn’t know how to operate the computer. It takes him several minutes. He comes back with the two separate checks and things are looking great oops spoke to soon. The kids meals were on there and not free like they were supposed to be on Tuesdays. I go to tell him and once again Jorge is ready to give attitude. He tells me I’m wrong and there was not enough adult meals to cover the kids meals…… I told him there’s 5 adults and 5 kids and that it is really simple math. He gives me an eye roll and goes back to the computer and looks baffled. He then slams the check in my hand and ask is this right? Needless to say one of my favorite places In town is no more and I’ll have to find a New restaurant. If I ran this place Jorge Garcia should maybe be moved to dish washing as customer service might not be his strong suit in life.

Something was way off last night at San Marcos. The food was terrible. The edges of my chili relleno were hard like it was old. I couldn't eat it. My shredded beef burrito was cold and bland. Usually the food is really good there but our entire party said the food was horrid last night. Very sad.

Delicious specials and courteous staff. Chile Relenos Verde was excellent. Fried ice cream isn't fried and not recommended.

Food was so good but it was a disappointing experience. When I start ordering my food off the menu the waitress cuts me off and says "the price on the menu is wrong, it's 7 dollars more for what you want". Unmmm, that's false advertisement and that's technically not allowed. You are supposed to honer the advertised price, but they wouldn't. That was disappointing and you could tell that the waitress was probably tired of saying the price that is advertised is wrong. Fix that menu!! You are lying to people.

Food was ok. But i might just be difficult. How ever the burrito was kinda small. I paid 18. And some change for a short burrito and a Pepsi. I thnk thats kind of steep. But then again everything is a million dollars or more. So yea i would take my family thr. Let them make their own opinions. The restaurant it self was nice and clean. Bathrooms whr clean thats always a couple ⭐. Try ot and tell me what u thnk.
This place was great-authentic and what looked like a family run business where everyone seemed to be chipping in-it was nice to see. Food was awesome!

San Marcos is an amazing Mexican Restaurant! When my family and I first arrived we were greeted from the super nice and welcoming staff. The restaurant is very clean and well ran. Our waitress was very intentive and made sure our food was ordered correctly. The restaurant was super busy but she still made sure to check-in with us. When the food arrived (which didn’t take long ~less than 10 minutes) it looked amazing. You definitely get your moneys worth here at San Marcos! Everything was made perfectly and we order a range of different foods from carne sada tacos, birria tacos, nachos, taquitos, and quesadilla. The pricing is very reasonable.
So, if you are in the Carson City area and craving some good authentic Mexican food, stop at San Marcos Grill!
