I don't know why I never ate here before. Now I'm sad I waited so long. Steven R. was our server and he did a perfect job making sure everything was OK-- even brought a small coffee pot to the table in case I ran out. Had the French Dip and fries. Fries were absolutely prefect in every imaginable way, hot crispy on the outside and perfect potatoey clouds on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. The French Dip was nothing short of spectacular, with plenty of au jus for dipping. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention this small, seemingly insignificant item- the napkins. Yes, they were paper, but I had to feel it twice to make sure it wasn't cloth, sturdy, yet absorbent. So much better than using my shirt sleeve. All in all, a great dining experience. Nice decor, not noisy, plenty of parking, I can think of no negatives.

Thursdays are Basque nights with special menu. We had a group of twelve without reservations and they accommodated us very well. Everyone was served promptly. Food was excellent and good value.

Overland Restaurant - 1st time visit at Minden, NV. recommended by Holiday Inn Rxpress mgmt.
The elk burger was good and tasty. Fresh.
The valley burger was good too.
The service was very slow, even though the restaurant was not that busy.
The atmosphere was BAD. This is a kind of sports bar/restaurant. We wdte sitting in the dinning section.
The dinners did not have to scream across the table to talk.
Other than these 2 j conveniences, the restaurant is good.
It deserves a 2nd chance.

I have loved this place for a while, but it seems like with the menu change the portions have gone down. I ordered the ahi salad and it looks nothing like the photos on the site and is missing components. My wife ordered the caprese salad and it came with a basil leaf, just the one. I'm hoping this is just an off day because this is not consistent with what I've gotten before

We came for the weekday happy hour which was recommended on line. The happy hour selections are fabulous with plenty of tasty adult beverage options.
Our waiter Tennessee was a gem, friendly and entertaining. Kitchen was quick and accurate.

THIS is our new favorite Gardnerville restaurant!! I highly recommend! I had the steak salad with cilantro lime dressing, my husband had the salmon bowl(?) which he loved, and my fil enjoyed the fish n chips. Service was phenomenal!

Each of our meals was excellent. The French fries are among the best I have ever tasted. We had burgers, fish and chips, and a caprese salad. The fish was well cooked. The burgers were cooked to order.

On this Friday night, the bar was packed. The restaurant was merely busy.

The service was outstanding throughout our meal but faltered when it came time for the check. It took quite a while before we received the bill and even longer for the server to come back for it.
