Disappointed that the Hot Springs were not included with the lodging. Not to mention the $55.00/person fee seemed a bit much. The room was very clean with a great view. The mattress cover and fitted sheet kept coming off, made for a fitful night sleep. First world problems for first world prices!

Canceling weddings that are happening in a month without any explanation and not even having the courage to call the couples to deliver your awful news yourself is a new low for a business. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. I will be sure to let everyone I know in the area to NEVER set foot in your establishment again.

This place has decent rooms to stay in but it doesn't come with hot springs. It's in a beautiful backdrop of the Genoa valley but they are way overpriced! They milk you for every cent here. I will have to say that the food is delicious!. Checkout is at 11 and the maid woke us up beating on our door at 9 which really pissed me off!! I won't go back unless the start being nicer monetarily to the locals!!

This place is a horrible rip off to spa and hotel guests. $50 per day if your visiting and not staying but for hotel guests??? Rip off. I have never once had to pay to use a pool and hot tubs at a hotel. As for calling it a spa...that's a stretch. The bathrooms are often dirty and smells of mold. The steam room and sauna are basic, very small and old when they actually work and the hot tubs are falling apart, old and crumbling. This place is really a joke. I could see paying maybe $20 for visitors but $50, they are tripping if they think that place is worth that price. Save your money and go anywhere else or be prepared to be disappointed . Carson and Grover hot springs are much nicer and you at lest get whey you pay for there. As for the hotel. My MIL booked a stay for three weeks In December. It was a nightmare and she left after about one week. First she requested a high floor and a valley view, both denied despite the place being fairly empty when she checked For several days, but also put her right above the valet so Barley even a view of the mountains. Just a view of the roof. Thanks. She asked to be moved, denied. Then her second night there were kids in the room above her jumping and running up and down making all kinds of noise until about midnight and when she called twice a night to complain they did absolutely nothing. She asked to be moved each day because of it and was shrugged off and denied. The beds were so bad she was about to go buy a mattress topper for that three week stay but we convinced her just to leave and never return. We got her much better lodging up at the lake, and no $50 for a much nicer pool and spa. I would never stay here again and never suggest it to anyone. It's garbage. The one star is because you have to leave something and the Bar/ Restaurant are actually good for a visit. Just skip the rest.

I love spending time over here on the eastern side of the Sierra, so beautiful. We stopped in at one of my fave stops and find it's been taken over by IHG Holiday Inn Vacation Club Resorts .... which turns out is not a bad thing. The website has change as has the official name and phone numbers. 1862 David Wally's Hot Springs Resort has been sold to Holiday Inn Club Vacations. It's been rebranded and now has a lot more corporate money to make improvements to the property. Extended business hours are one thing. The old Harriet's Cafe by the pools serving lunch and breakfast is closed now and will be rebuilt as a coffee and sandwich bar for the pool area. All meals now are served in the main dining room starting at 7am and open thru dinner closing at 11pm. The spa is operating as it did before and all the pools are still open. The menu for lunch and dinner have changed as well. No more pizzas on the menu for the Saloon Bar area. Gone are some of the burger options, but the duck salad has stayed. There's many new items on the menu as well, so really, this is like a new restaurant as far as food goes. The time share options are still the same, if you want details you better call as Summerwinds, the previous time share operator has sold to Holiday Inn Club Vacations. I was here for lunch and was served in the nice formal dining room. I really like this room. Service was super by the former employees of the closed Harriet's Cafe. I'm glad people didn't lose their jobs with the buyout. They'll even make more money with the extended hours. The food was fabulous. We ordered the Cobb Salad and the Patty Melt served with fries. The food was presented perfectly. My patty melt was cooked as ordered, med rare and the rye bread was grilled crispy as it should be. The Cobb salad was generous with the portions of eggs and bacon and chicken. This was a wonderful place for lunch, much better than the coffee shop atmosphere of the old Harriet's Cafe by the pool. Happy hour in the bar area starts at 4:30 and goes till 6pm. The food is more casual fare then the formal dining room, like ribs, burgers, salads, fried calamari and the like. Excellent service and quality. There's even outdoor seating if the weather is nice. Come on and give this new revamped Wally's a try, you won't regret it.

If you're going to get married, listen to me: - Watch out for the wedding planner, she holds a grudge and does not like to accept responsibility for her shortcomings. - The hotel is nice, but checking in is a disaster - Blocking rooms is difficult and problem-prone. - its a nice venue with good food, things generally worked out, but some of the issues with the rooms seemed very avoidable if the wedding planner had communicated better with the hotel, they both passed the buck back and forth between each other, then ultimately blamed the bride. - You've been warned. Do your best. and Congratulations!

My husband and I came across this resort when we were looking for a place to stay since we got caught in a snow storm. We are very happy we found David Walley's Resort. It was a great experience. The entire staff was super friendly, especially Maria. We were very well taken care of. The room was nice and clean with a great view. I totally recommend this resort.

I inherited a timeshare property here at David Walley's Resort. I have tried for 3 years to use it with no luck. I don't see the value here owning a timeshare, I have even tried to use the exchange program and it is limited space for receiving vouchers for use. Not happy and very expenses due.

An annual ritual for my daughters & I for the last 15 years. Love relaxing in the hot springs & enjoying the peaceful scenery - away from the city. Good food at the restaurant & pub too. Always room for improvement in general with a lot of the property & maintenance, though I give 4 stars for our general enjoyment factor despite any other issues we might encounter there...

Horrible service for 55.00 fee to get in. Bring your own shoes! The cement is cold in the winter!!! Remember you only get one towel so if you need to take a shower after you use the same wet towel you used for the hot springs! Also there is no soap, conditioner or lotion to use! Shouldn't be called a spa but maybe a community pool. The price should pay for nice accommodations but don't be fooled! You get nothing!!!!

To be honest, I was a little nervous about some of the reviews I read before our visit. That being said, I found this resort to be very charming and the surrounding scenery was stunning. We stayed in the one bedroom villa. It was huge with a giant balcony overlooking the valley and distant mountains. I found it clean and comfortable. Sure it's a little dated but that didnt bother me one bit. We spent some time at the hot springs which were very relaxing and enjoyable. We also had dinner at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was amazing.

Save your money, go else where. Horrible massage, even worst customer service. Spa manager Stephanie and Megan are incompetent, rude, and not qualified to manage a facility. I was personally accused of being a liar and gas lighted. This whole resort is horribly run. This place should be out of business. I will be reporting this to BBB. I spent over $300 on my spa treatment including a body scrub and a "Swedish massage" I decided to treat my self for my birthday. First off , they force you to tip before you actually receive the service. I was uncomfortable but imaged that with $300+ spa treatment I would be served 5-star service. To start, body scrub was okay, the procedure is straight forward enough that no one can mess it up. Unfortunately the massage (80mins) was not up to my satisfaction. Not once I was asked how the massage was and the massage movement made no sense. Unmemorable, it was just my body being oil slapped all over the place. I expressed my concerns to both Meghan and Stephanie the "managers" both of them completely disregarded my concerns follow by verbally abusing me then hanging up on the phone. Spa was a mistake, they robbed me. This whole resort is a scam. It's a dicusting public pool that they call hot springs.

My family has been owners of a timeshare here at David Walleys for many years. And though through the years, several issues with management and staff, difficulty with reservations, I wanted to specifically write a review about our wedding day here. Unreal. Fantastic. Beautiful. Marie is a mastermind of her craft, and made our day perfect, Barry is so kind and sweet. It really turned out absolutely perfect. The food- wedding food always has a downside... but NOT here! We still have guests texting us about how amazing the food was. We will be forever grateful for this venue bring a part of our lives for many past years, but now holding all of our wedding memories as well. Thanks again Marie and staff, you made our day perfect!!! Keep in mind every place has its faults. Unfortunately we have had a few not so perfect experiences, but David Walleys has always been a place I believe in. I will always have love for this gorgeous resort.

Don't waste your money!!! I booked a birthday get-a-away for my boyfriend for a two night stay at the lodge. Cost of stay didn't include use or entrance into the Hot Springs. You have to pay an additional $50/per person, per day if you want to use Hot Springs/Pool and Spa areas. The lodge is okay, comfortable beds, small kitchenette (Microwave/Refrigerator); bathroom had a small sink - NO vanity or counter space. Had to use our ice chest as a vanity/storage of our bathroom accessories. Room was OK but walls need re-painting....chip marks & discolored paint were noticeable. The ONLY value for price was dining at the 1862 restaurant.....also a little pricey, but worth it. Food was outstanding! Surrounding area very beautiful...especially the quaint town of Genoa. I will NOT return to this lodge and highly recommend you do your research if you're thinking about purchasing a timeshare at this facility. Spoke w/two couples who are seriously disappointed in what was promised vs. what's being delivered.

I have enjoyed the food in the past, but the service is the missing piece- it is lack luster on the attention. The girls don't care about visitors they like the regulars who they know I guess will tip. The visitors are the wild card you have to provide service to get a gratuity and if they don't know who you are they must believe there is no gratuity. Shame I like to tip when staff pays attention, I like my wine glass to be offered a refill before I push it to the edge of the table. I like to have someone say it will be just a few minutes or your food is almost up before I have to ask where is the app we pre-ordered when we sat down. I don't like being treated like I am a pain in the add for someone who is maybe tired or at the end of their shift and didn't get the break they should have had by law - but please don't take it out on guests give them your best - wow them even though you are tired - we the people who pay your check deserve it!! I will not be happy to return!!
