Balboa Pizza

Last review was 6 yrs ago. Review is about the same but now the 2 yr old is 8 and my 4 yr old is part of the cool kids club. Food is always great and what isnt finished, always goes home. The staff is always awesome. Today, the pizza oven was done. Staff let us know immediately before we even sat down. We decided to order outside of pizza(plenty of great items). Multiple staff members were extremely helpful with listening to my kids ordering their food and made it fun as they were very shy. They smiled and made it a game for them. I will always return to places that do that with/for my kids.

Old Review-
Food is good. Normally get a pizza and 20 wings for four people. Staff is always friendly, even more so to my two yr old. Parking always is terrible, is the downside. Take out is normally quick and correct.

Food was passable but extremely overpriced, making it a terrible value overall. The only way I'd ever come back was if the food was at least 2/3rds the price it is now

I had a not great experience with a younger waitress, it felt like us being there was an inconvenience to her. The food was decent but slow.

You need to retrain or fire your bartender, expecting a Tip on a to go order as a freaking bartender, have you gone delulu ?, the bartender doesn’t even make the mozzarella breadsticks ?. Make it make sense, and people who want to eat here should think twice if this is the entitlement of their bartender imagine their waiter and waitresses. Tipping culture has gone mad, avoid this place at all costs. Your bartender had the gall to refuse service because of NO TIP when tip isn’t even applicable, that is retaliation and unprofessional and top of that after a review on yelp you 86d people, terrible place with a terrible manager and bartender.

Why should customers have to tip for a to go order to receive their food? Trash service.

Crappy service. Their food is ok, but the servers and bartender are slow and barely care that patrons want a drink. We won’t be returning.

Man y'all have a story going viral about threatening customers over to go order tips. Manager needs to apologize to the dude.

Ordered a to go order and when i got there the bartender (kyle) refused to let me pay for it because “i don’t work for free” referencing the night before when i had place a togo order as well for just mozzarella sticks and didn’t tip. He repeatedly was saying i stiff him and would not serve me because i didn’t tip for a TOGO ORDER. He was very disrespectful. Tips are not mandatory.

Pizza was dry. Didn't care for it or the wings

Tried around 10:30 AM on Thursday February 27. Closed and dark. Not sure if it's just this time or if a more permanent change, but definitely not open 24 hours.
