Our server was friendly and efficient. Food was delicious even when it was a little pricey.
The food was much better the last time we visited a month or so ago. Identical dishes were ordered. The salad had bacon bits, which was not listed that I recall. They were hidden well also. It eas more of a chef's salad versus a garden salad. We do not consume meat, so that was a bummer. The drinks were also very weak compared to the previous visit. The main courses were acceptable but nit great. The service was excellent.
The room is old and the furniture is old. I actually pinched my finger in the old rickety chair I was in when I went to scoot it in. The server was very nice but not very good at the job of server. I had a dinner salad, ribeye steak and asparagus. The food was actually very good and the steak was cooked medium rare to perfection.
Overpriced for the food quality. Cocktails were meh at best. Food was luke warm but the service was good.
Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Steak and Prime rib , perfect temperatures. Jo's Spinach salad, exceptional. The service was great.
I would give a zero if the app allowed it.
Please. Don't. Go!
Save your time and money and go to a REAL steakhouse where you will get prompt service from the servers and quality food for the money. And not be harassed by a under trained Sous Chef who wont belittle you when you let her know that her food is not up to par.
Its like the other reviewers went to a different restaurant.
My Experience: HORRIBLE. Very short staffed. Only one server and one person bussing tables. I was at the restaurant on 9-18 and there was literally 6 tables that had guests. It took awhile to get served with bread, drinks, and water. My friend ordered a shrimp cocktail and I ordered a Merlo with French Onion Soup. Entree, he ordered a Rib Eye (Rare plus) not sure what that is... but so be it. I ordered a Rib eye Medium rare.
Once the 1st part of the meal arrived, my Soup had virtually no cheese and had a very mediocre taste.... almost like it came out of a can. I tried a few minutes to let the server know that I didn't care for the soup but no one was around. I waited and waited without eating the soup, while my friend ate his shrimp cocktail. Finally, after 10 min. I decided to suck it up and eat the soup as I was starving from not eating since breakfast. I inhaled the bread to stifle the hunger pangs and washed it down with the Merlo.
25 minutes pass and our main course comes out. The food runner takes off. My friends steak was COLD. My meal looked okay, but I waited to eat. Again, the server finally came over after 10 min of looking over the 6 tables that were occupied. He let her know that it was not done right... she took my friends meal back.... Meanwhile, i have not touch my meal waiting for his meal to be cooked properly . We waited another 15 minutes and my friend said lets get out of this place and go across the parking lot and get a friggin burger. He paid his bill for the appy and left for the rest room and as I was finishing up my bill, I was approached by the Sous Chef (Kim) and she asked what the problem in a very crust and standoff manner. I explained that my friend's steak was not to his liking, and then she tried to explain how it was cooked properly. Honestly, I am not sure about the way he wanted the steak cooked. Regardless, it was not to his satisfaction.
Then i brought up my soup not being satisfactory. The Sous Chef said in a condescending tone that NO ONE ever complained about her soup before and I was the first. Good gawd. I didnt want a debate with her. I was quite shocked at her tone and attitude. She then took the steaks and left without asking me what I want, or how she could make it right, or any of the usual customer service methods.
I paid my bill for a class wine and the crappy soup. $35-ish. Oh the server did give me a consolatory glass of wine.
And.... the story continues. I left the restaurant and wanted to speak with the hotel manager to let them know of my experience. I am not looking for a hand out or discount.. I just wanted to let them know. Apparently,, no managers were around. I find that odd, especially at 8pm. The hotel clerk was available, and I asked to be contacted by a manager the next day. He took diligent notes and said it would be addressed.
... .Next day comes and I visit the front desk as I didn't get any calls or text from the hotel leadership. The clerk hands me a letter from the food and beverage manager stating that she had a conversation with all parties (whomever that is and not with me) and she feels that I was adequately compensated and considered the matter closed. Can a guest be even further disrespected! I made mention to the clerk again, that the letter was insulting and I still wanted a hotel manager to call me to discuss the matter.
As of this date, no one has contacted me to talk about the incide

I rated the service low not because of our server, she was fabulous! It is because of whatever the issue was, they were under staffed. The dining room was full and they only had two servers. The hostess was helping out and the three of them were certainly making it work to the best of their abilities and with great attitudes. With all of those positives, we still had to wait over a half hour for our orders to be taken because of their staffing crunch. It was about the same time period to get the food from the kitchen. My steak was rare even though I ordered medium rare. I didn't send it back because I was afraid of the extra wait time. It was tender and it tasted good. We came to celebrate the wedding anniversary and birthday of a good friend by treating the couple to dinner. If they hadn't been people whom we really enjoy visiting with, the wait times would have been awkward. Other than the steak being underdone for my taste, everything tasted great. Salads-good, lobster soup- good, salmon- good, cheesecake- good, tiramisu-good. Portion sizes are very nice. Everyone loved the green beans with almonds so that was really about average by everyone's judgment. I know that we will want to return and try other things on the menu. I am not sure that our friends will because you don't get the chance to make a first impression twice. We will certainly encourage them to come back!
Our server Vincent was fantastic. The food was just ok. I think it's a little overpriced for what you get. The cooks need to be trained better on steaks. Medium to medium well doesn't mean red and bloody on the inside. I would go back again only with a Groupon. This isn't Ruth Criss or The Golden Steer by any stretch.
Food and ambiance is great here!!
Very disappointed. food was just average, Cafe quality. I guess it is because they are cooking it all in the Cafe across the hall, and carting it over. Save you $$$$ and just go to the cafe next door. not upscale at all. Sat next to the Tee shirt and shorts crew.

Such fantastic food as it always been everytime I've been here over the years. Was celebrating mine and my boyfriends birthdays that were very recent. Vinnie was phenomenal. Very attentive, great personality, brought us everything we needed very fast even with only having 2 servers on this evening. From a fellow server myself it's so wonderful to see people like Vinnie who genuinely cares about his patrons and can tell he really enjoys his job. Definitely will be requesting him next time for sure.

We were a party of 3, and I had a Groupon. The wedge salad was a meal in itself. Lobster chowder was very flaverful. I had the chicken with a large baked potato with ALL the toppings. Daughter had the burger which came with a lot of fries. Each drink came with a carafe, so no need to ask for seconds. The deserts were excellent as well. It was a long drive from Vegas, but well worth it.
We visited DeSimone's for a second time Saturday, 08/24/2024. The first visit three weeks earlier was fraught with errors, but this visit was a much improved experience. My wife had the filet and I had a Strip steak. We both ordered our beef to be cooked medium-rare. The filet was perfectly cooked and mine arrived at medium, so the cook overshot the medium-rare target a little bit. The service was better this time around and the Sous Chef visited our table before and after our meal. Thank you, Kim, for making our visit much more satisfying than the first.
We had a reservation for 4 at 6 pm on Friday evening. We were given the first table upon entering the restaurant. We were able to sit further into the restaurant, but were not able to sit in any of the open booths (our preference). I had a Groupon, was unaware the bill was dropped as we were never offered dessert or coffee. When I gave the Groupon I believe the incorrect Groupon was applied. Very disappointing
