The only bad thing I can say about this place is their cleanliness. I was eating with mom at a window table and noticed CHUNKS of DUST all over the valances. DISGUSTING! I couldn't finish eating.

I rarely, if ever, post scathing reviews. (If it's passable but not great, I just don't post a review.) But last night's dinner at the Black Bear Dinner in Henderson was dismal. We were a party of four, arriving at 5:30 pm at a half-empty restaurant and seated immediately in a section by ourselves. And yet, it took an extremely long time to get our meals, possibly longer than 30 minutes.Only three out of four plates were delivered initially. The cheese on the cheeseburger was an odd color, dried out and curled on the edges. Two of the dinners had cold vegetables, and the gravy on the mashed potatoes was shiny and congealed. My tri-tip was barely warm and as tough as jerky. The 4th entree--a $24 steak-- arrived at least 5 minutes later, hot but very much overcooked. We had already waited so long (after a 20-minute drive to get there), that we didn't want to send it all back and wait another 30 minutes for fresh plates. While the waiter was nice, he never came back to fill water glasses or refill the coffee. My only excuse for eating the meal is that it was a school night, and we needed to get the grandkids back home to do their homework instead of leaving to go to another restaurant. I have been kicking myself for tolerating such a disaster. And paying $100 for it, including the tip!! Huge mistake.I will return for breakfasts. But never again for a dinner.
