Food is good. However, don’t expect a quick meal. If you are in a hurry you will be disappointed.

Me and my husband came in this morning, we have been greeted by the hostess named Stephaniy this was our first time here at the lucky penny so we asked from some suggestions by her and she suggested the lucky three way she also said the portions where big she was not wrong so me and my husband shared it. It was delicious the pancakes we’re the best I’ve ever had, when we finished we closed our check with Stephaniy and she said to me and my husband hope we have a great rest of your day. She was such a sweet heart with an amazing smile we can’t wait to see her again when we visit the lucky penny again. Thank you Stephaniy!!

I have been to the GVR cafe for years but this last three times I’ve gone there for the late night special. The manager by the name of Dora is so rude. Doesn’t say hello or smile she pretends to not notice you. When you are in front of her in the entrance of the restaurant. I have spoken to other customers and share same experience with her. How hard is it to smile. She makes people wait when they don’t have to. In my last experience there I waited right in front of her no smile or hello and ignored my husband and me. We had to wait for someone else to seat us and say hello and our waiter was very kind and apologized for her behavior. I that to be a manager at a cafe in a casino they would be trained in hospitality or find a new job.

Nice little diner, with a pretty bar on the south side of the restaurant. All you can drink mimosas, and decent portions. Hard to leave this place and still be hungry. Good value for money.

I came with my family they said it would be a hour wait for a family of six because they only have one server on a Saturday night. It’s them we would wait. The lady at the counter did not seem happy. We decided to leave. There is a reason this place is empty on a Saturday if this is the service they provide.

I was confused. When I walked in, it just said wait here to be seated and I didn’t know where to go. The plates are really dirty.
Probably the worst service we’ve received. We dined around 1230am. The manager came over asking if any one took our order we said no. She took our drinks. Another woman came over and took our food order. After that a guy walked by dropping food at another table saying he was actually our server. He brought our food out and my fiancé ordered from the menu “biscuits and gravy” and it didn’t hit the table. I reminded the server and he proceeded to bring out ONE biscuit with gravy. They may want to rename their menu items. The server then never came back. We saw him walk back into the place from the casino after we had been finished and let us know we pay up front. Woulda been nice to know instead of sitting and waiting to be told.
OK........when I get the ham and eggs urge tugging at me, this is my jam.......good food, good prices and, good staff........it never gets old.........I love this place. If you get lucky enough to have Mai Mai serving you, youll like this place even more......total sweetheart.

Decent food at a decent price. The portions were large. My old fashioned, however, hardly had any flavor.
Came for the late night steak and eggs that they have after 11 PM daily.
The steak was kind of tough to chew which is not surprising given the price.
It was nicely cooked and flavorful, but not tender.
The eggs and hash browns were good.
I have the $4.99 eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast deal and that was eggcelent for the price.
Late nights, the dining area is usually empty. The hostess was friendly as was the waiters, but the waiters are usually slow to serve you.
Be prepared to wait for service and your food.
I used to come here years ago when I lived down the road and I stopped going because the food would make me sick. I thought I would give it a shot, having not been there in over 7 years. Well, I was wrong. I ordered a caesar salad with salmon and sure enough, it made me sick. I have no idea what they do in that kitchen, but I will not be going back again.
Tried this place for the first time and it was "ok". Would return and try something else. Priced right and nice location. Note- you need to walk thru the casino to get there. Service and atmosphere was nice.
Menu was relatively diverse and priced reasonably (about $20 an entree).
Salad was fresh. No real complaints minus some salad toppings were few and far between. Dressings seemed homemade and were good! Wouldn't get chicken parmigiana, will stick to Italian restaurant.

My partner and I went out for Thanksgiving dinner, trying this restaurant for the first time. The wait time was acceptable, and our waitress was nice, but we felt rushed when she immediately asked for our menus and orders. We ordered two turkey dinners, but she didn’t even introduce herself, which was a bit off-putting.
Throughout the meal, she never came back to check if we needed anything else, like more soda or napkins. When the food finally arrived, my meal wasn’t hot enough, and it was clear the cranberry sauce was canned. The mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green beans all seemed lackluster as well.
After we finished eating, our server—still nameless—came back to ask if we wanted a takeout box. I said yes, and she brought it along with the check but didn’t offer us dessert or coffee.
Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of our expectations. Interestingly, the restaurant didn’t seem especially busy, as I noticed other guests having a better time with a more attentive service. Sadly, I was left disappointed.
Apologies for the lack of photos, but I didn’t finish my meal; the turkey, in particular, was not to my taste.
