Long time patrons that have just had our minds blown. The Foie Gras and Thai coconut seafood soup were fabulous. The Ricotta gnocchi with short rib was a party in a plate! We can't wait to come back for all of these again ASAP!!!
Couldn't have had a better experience. Adrian and the crew were outstanding. Top to bottom. No notes. And the icing on the cake was the view that went with it. 12/10.
Food wasn't cooked to levels asked for, eg: rack of lamb well done when asked for medium rare, overpriced for quality of food- nice ambiance, great service, 1 hour wait on food despite being first service of night.
My girlfriend and I sat at the bar and had a great meal and catch-up. The bartender, Jason I think, was so great - perfectly attentive and funny. The fish and chips were perfect and the wine list was GREAT! I hope to return soon to enjoy some of that great wine!
Fabulous as usual. We've been four times in 3 months. Staff are always pros and fun. Good is delicious. A regular of ours
This restaurant was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had, and I've eaten at thousands of restaurants around the world. Amanda, the waitress, was extremely rude. She continued bothering me even after I politely asked her to leave my son and me alone so we could enjoy our meal. When I went to speak with the manager, she actually followed me to the manager, which was completely unprofessional. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she spat in my food. This type of behavior is unacceptable, and this waitress should be fired immediately. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive. When I asked Amanda about it, she was clearly irritated and completely unapologetic. This is not the level of service you would expect from a high-end restaurant. What was supposed to be a birthday celebration for my son turned into one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I've ever had. You're much better off taking your business to Crystal Bay Steak and Lobster, where the service is excellent and the food is exceptional for the price. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.
Our reservations were at six and we did not get our entrées until after 8 PM. We ordered shortly after we sat down and we were some of the first tables to be seated. They said there was a miscommunication with the kitchen, but as we looked around, no one else had their entrées. The scenery was beautiful, and the server was polite, but we were all exhausted after finishing our meal around 8:30 PM. Food was bland. I would try to go to another restaurant.
This is the second time we have dined here and we always thoroughly enjoy it. The tables with the view of the lake are outstanding and the food is excellent.
Fabulous service! Ian was a great server! All the food was amazing except the Caesar Salad Romaine lettuce very blanched.
The food exceeded our expectations. Great service, nice dining room. Nice presentation for the food, which I would characterize as comfort food, but well prepared.

We had dinner for 6 with family members. Food was great and the staff attentive and we were fortunate enough to have an amazing sunset over Lake Tahoe to add to the view
Went on NYE and was not aware the menu was Prix fixed. Didn't mention on website or Open table when I booked weeks ago. Had I known, I would not have booked, especially with children Price was $125 pp and food was sadly not worth the price. Paid for a drink we never received. Manager did comp our bill 25% off as we explained the Prix Fixed only menu was not clear on either site. We were not the only complaint as there were many other customers caught off guard too. Would have been nice to have both regular menu options. Learning experience for everyone.
Why I waited 35 years to try Big Water Grille is beyond me. We are part time residents and our son asked for us to go there as a family. The food was really good - I had to try the KFC - Korean Fried Cauliflower, it was a great starter. I tried my sons steak - medium rare, it was perfect. My wife raved about her pork chop. It was.dark outside when we got there - I imagine the view in the spring and summer to be magnificent. The bar looked to be busy. There were College.Bowl games on the TVs.
Always a good experience at Big Water Grille. Thank you John Chaney for years of positive experiences. We love BWG
