I had been wanting to try The Grille at The Chateau for sometime, but we are typically in IV when they are closed for the season. (Open only mid-May to mid-October.) The day didn't start with The Grille in mind. First lunch stop was Old Town Truckee. Beautiful Saturday and, not unexpectedly, Truckee was overrun with tourists. We lacked the patience to deal with parking and crowds so continued on to IV and Alibi Ale Works. However, Alibi was closing mid-afternoon for a private event and only serving drinks. We needed more than a liquid lunch! Then I remembered that the golf course had a restaurant. We are not golfers but have often found good restaurants at golf courses. We were greeted warmly and seated by a window. Outside seating was an option, but we avoid hightop tables if we can. The 2023 menu featured Small Plates, Salads, and Sandwiches plus a few other items including steak and frites, fish and chips, and tacos. DH and I both chose the Two Item Sandwich Combo. We were thinking alike as we both ordered the roasted turkey sandwich and the soup of the day, a flavorful tomato bisque. The sandwich was toasted, yet fairly ordinary in flavor. Happy to have marbled rye as my option, although DH's choice of sourdough would have worked, too. Other sandwich options were tuna or chicken salad. Side choices besides the soup were fries or a house salad. I am always content with a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. (IMO, New Zealand has the best Sauvignon Blancs at a reasonable price.) DH should have gone with the wine. He was very disappointed with his Lead Dog Citra Solo. He should have asked for a taste first. If it is an unfamliar draft, ask for a taste. All in all an okay lunch stop.

Food is good and well priced. Service is sometimes slow but the servers are very pleasant and accommodating.

This has been one of our favorite restaurants for several years but food and service has seriously deteriorated over the past year or so. Long wait to be seated, longer wait to be served. Food very average. Steak was medium instead of med/rare. Frites were excellent. Service very slow and not very professional.

Food was very good. We ate outside since it was a nice cool evening. Got to watch some golfers golf. The indoor dining was just a big room with tables. Nothing special about dining in or out. But the food was good. We ordered the beet salad (AMAZING), fish and chips (more batter than fish ? but still good), cheeseburger (kids liked it) and kids chicken tenders. That beet salad though... I'll be dreaming about it for a long time ?

Service continues to be slow slow and waiters unfriendly, most.

Amazing food, everything was cooked perfectly from the fluffy fish, to perfectly crisped sweet potatoes. The restaurant prices was very reasonable for being on a golf course, and the view of the course with the mountain was perfect. If you looking for a laid back dinner this place should be on your list

We had a wonderful lunch today at The Grille. Make sure to make a reservation! We were seated on their beautiful patio overlooking the golf course with mountains in the background. My husband and I both ordered the Cobb salad and it was made with the freshest ingredients and homemade dressing. We couldn't ask for a nicer experience and delicious lunch. Oh and the service was terrific! We will be back soon!

I am pretty picky and I can tell you it was worth a 30 minute drive to come and have a sandwich here if you can believe that .. I had their famous Rubin just as is, it was absolutely delicious and different than others, and I've had in the past .. I saw a posting on the Internet and thought I'd go over and try it boy am I glad I did . Excellent I'm not too much and golf course restaurants near me. They're not that great for a sandwich. This was absolutely perfect.

The food is fresh and they have a good selection of salads, sandwiches, soup, and dishes like fish tacos and fish and chips. They have a daily special, too. The salads are very big and can be split and everything is filling. You get a nice v filtered view of the lake and a great view of the beautiful golf course while you eat.

The views, kitchen, food and presentation are five stars. Sadly, most (but not all) of the wait staff are surly and seem to resent their customers. The concept of client service and "ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen" is foreign to them. That's why I gave a generous two stars. Note, there is one exception to the slow service... if you arrive just before 6:30pm you'll get a lecture before you even sit down about getting your order in immediately. BUT you will have your order taken and be served quickly. And then, of course, you'll get the bum's rush and be shown the door. If respectful and attentive wait staff is not a priority for you then give the Grille a shot. Million dollar views and excellent food and value.

I had a chicken sandwich with a balsamic reduction that changed my religion. Impressed!

Nice views of the 18th hole. The food is great. Their salads are huge. The pastrami sandwich was also great. Keep an eye out for TRI tip special burrito or sandwich. Yum!
