Honestly can’t see what the complaints are all about. Kiosk took less than 3 minutes. We got early check in despite being sold out the night before. Kudos to the hard working cleaning staff. Room is massive and spotless. Staff are courteous and accommodating. Rio, like the Strat, is bottom of the price list for expensive Vegas so if you’re expecting more then pay more. Maybe pay the extra $$ and check in early do you don’t get the leftovers - if you can. Good for the price. Absolutely no issues! Enjoy.

Worst experience at any hotel in over 40 years of travel around the world. When reservations were made we were clear we needed an adjoining room since we had a 16 yo foreign exchange student traveling with us. The Ceasars reservation people told us this would be no problem. Rio is part of the greater Ceasars Entertainment group. We made reservations for 2 adjoining rooms. On day of arrival 2 emails were received for electronic early check in. We followed instructions on email. On arrival at Rio Las Vegas there were electronic kiosks for check in and issuing room keys. About 1/2 of the kiosks weren't working, there was lots of confusion and frustrated customers and minimal assistance from Rio staff. After successful check in for my 1st room I began the process for the 2nd room. The machine issued 2 more keys for the 1st room. I got the attention of the single Rio hotel staff person assisting with kiosk check in and was told that since I had 2 rooms I had to go through the registration desk to check in. The kiosk would only recognize 1 reservation with the same name. The line for the registration desk was about 50 people deep and moving very slow. We hadn't eaten since breakfast and had a show scheduled for 7 PM. It was 4 PM now so we decided to go to the room we did have, cleaned up and departed for dinner and the show and would register later. It's now 1130 PM and the line for the registration dest was still about 20 people deep. It took us about 40 minutes until it was our turn. Once we were being assisted the registration desk people were friendly and professional, but they advised us that they didn't have any adjoining rooms available for us. What whey did was placed us in a room with 2 queen beds. We had to get our belongings from our original room because it had a single bed and move everything to the new room on a different floor. They also cancelled the 2nd reservation and refunded all of our money for that reservation. The prompt refund of the deposit and payment made when doing early check in is the only positive thing I have to say about Ceasars group. At the registration desk at 1130 PM there were sometimes 2, or 3, or 4 people assisting customers get registered. When we were finished at the registration desk there were still about 20 customers in the line. Rio either doesn't care about their customer's time or don't staff properly for the demand. The bell service to bring your bags up to your room was also awful. I ended up going downstairs and getting my bags and bringing them up to the 1st room we were issued on the 14th floor. You aren't allowed to use a baggage cart. We were told no one in Las Vegas let's you take baggage carts to your room. Rio is a big hotel with 14 floors I believe and 2 or 3 long wings originating from a central point. There are 8 or 10 central elevators. 4 of the elevators didn't seem to be working so wait times at the elevators was also long. The room we were given was clean, but the beds had 3 relatively small square pillows. These are queen beds that generally sleep 2. While waiting to register the lady in front of us had been at the hotel for a few days and she told us about how they tried getting extra pillows and was told they didn't have extra pillows.

We arrived 2 hours early to the hotel so we were asked if we would like to pay for an early check-in , which we did. Then we were told that the hotel was under renovation so there may be a person at our window at some point during our stay. Next were all the wonderful little resort fees and holding fees. We got to your room and it was dark because the curtains were closed, and then I opened the curtains to reveal the sectional sofa with various stains and holes in it. The bed skirt also had various stains on it as well as trash underneath the bed. I was nervous to walk across the carpet without socks or shoes. One of the reasons I picked this hotel is because my partner and I love Chinese food and seafood, online it has a Chinese and seafood buffet restaurant listed, after getting there we found it was closed for renovations. We also picked this hotel for the club on the 51st floor and the rooftop bar area, we also found that it was also closed for renovations. The amenities that made me want to chose this location were all closed for renovations, very disappointing.

We arrived at 4:30 pm to check in for our rooms. The self check-in kiosks would not issue room keys, the front desk people were of no help. We had to wait in a line of 82 people trying to check in. Finally after 2 hours of waiting in line we were issued our room keys. We were told to call the Bell Desk and they would deliver the luggage. After 22 minutes of calling they never answered the phone. We had to go down to the front entrance and grab an employee who helped find a person to deliver our luggage. Our room was terrible, three tiny pillows on a king side bed, the sink faucets required super human strength to turn on and off, the closet coat hanger pole was torn from the wall on one end. Tried to call the front desk and housekeeping nobody answered the phone, after multiple attempts we gave up. We attempted to check out the next day using our remote and the TV, no luck that system noted that it was unable to complete our checkout

The whole hotel looks dirty and in need of much repair. Carpets had stains, hallway dirty and the room that was supposed to be a suite was awful. The wash and face cloths were shredding and dirty. I would never stay there again.

It appears that Ceasars is taking over and they are in the middle of a transition. However, they have a serious check-in issue. I waited 3 hours in line beginning at 1:30 a.m. There were 300 people in line. The employees were overwhelmed and the guests were yelling. My friends arrived the next day around 7:00 p.m. and it took them 2 hours to check in. I ran into people on elevator my last day and they said, "that check in was brutal". There was no manager in charge and it was Labor Day weekend. I asked the employee that checked me in who should I complain to and he said the "Director" but when I went down the next day there were another 200 people in line so I did not complain. I can only describe the check in as a sh!+ show. There was a very nice employee who brought us water. I asked him who was in charge and he said, "good question". We had a good time. We went to the B-52 concert at the Venetian. Could not let inconvenience ruin a short weekend. Employee said I had a positive attitude and gave me a food credit. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated (no USB chargers) but they are huge. Food options are limited as most of the restaurants don't open until 3 or 6 p.m. No clubs were open for dancing. Security sent us to the Palms. Slots paid out well. No real complaints except for losing 3 hours of my life when I was totally exhausted from traveling 1700 miles.

Checked in very late (~ 1 am) surprisingly still a queue. Although this is a suite hotel, I got a “suite suite”, which was huge. Hall, guest bathroom (!), dining room, living room, bedroom, shower, bath. All fairly standard, quite clean, although the décor is a bit faded and could do with an upgrade.

The Rio is a budget casino at its best. Not many food options, and in need of remodeling. Upgraded to a room with a view of the strip. Was decent at best. The bathroom had a window in it that allowed people in the main room to see into the shower. Thought that was kind of odd.

I was completely fed up with everything. No hot water for the first 2 days, cable was hit and miss. Multiple times not working at all, no cold water in the jacuzzi one night. the carpet is stained, bed was lumpy, slanted and warn, comforter had a cigarette burn and was not changed the entire week we were there. The couch is very worn and dirty. The room rate was not cheep. I feel very disappointed and taken. A lot of the store, restaurants and bars had very limited hours. Only a few cocktail waitresses. Were suposed to have a view of the strip, but view of dumpsters and parking garage. Little to no service on the slot floor. Moble ckeckout did not work. It was our 25th wedding anniversary. This was supposed to be very special. This place is not special. I'm not happy at all. I was all told my apologies, but nothing more.?

Consistency is key to safety and security, this hotel fails horribly. Booked a suite thinking it would have better quality control, I was wrong. Issues with the shower, toilet, safe and tv. Voiced concerns to the evening MOD at front desk and she didn’t seem to care. I’m a Vegas local who works in the hotel industry and I was trying to have a nice staycation for my birthday. Within a few moments of checking in I was stopped by security while going up to my room because of my CCW, harassed and forced to wait 15 mins for a supervisor to lock my firearm in a security locker. This was my third visit in the last month and first time stopped. I got to my friends suite two times with my legally owned firearm but going to my own room I was stopped and told I could not. You must stay consistent if you claim “safety” is the reason I cannot keep my firearm for my personal protection when the hotel clearly cannot properly protect and respond in a timely fashion. What is the point of a security checkpoint if it is not there 24 hours to provide proper protection and safety? WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

This place is a waste of money. Most restaurants, shops and tables were closed as they are only open Friday through Sunday. The rooms are nice but beware seems like people live here full time. I came out of my room and three seemingly homeless people were sitting outside my door with clothes strewn everywhere. Tried to notify security and the front desk but they didn’t seem to care. Couldn’t get an escort back to my room. Solo female traveler and not trying to get caught in a bad situation where I should feel safe. Stay somewhere else.

It was a rough start for sure. Our first room was something out of the 70's complete with a porn window from the shower to the bedroom, creepy. Weird curtain covering the walls over the beds , and beds were both queens but 1 set 2 feet off the the floor the other 3 feet. NO USB PORTS!!!!! We booked king beds, so next morning they up graded our room to a still 70's old decor and furniture but the room was huge a the view was worth it , STILL NO CHARGING PORTS!!! , but we got a 3 port USB plug at the essential shop for $28. Our friend cut his foot on a metal plate in the floor. The elevators smelled of weed which is okay with me cause I'm a weed smoker but a respectful one who went off property to smoke but didn't stop security from letting us know we needed to go off site. Even as alot of smokers were smoking in the smoking areas, no biggie either way to me. No room service . Restaurants only open certain days. And the damn pool closes at 445?. And roof bar not open. We were told that they were bought out and will be remodeling, wish we would have waited for the renovations to stay there. Maybe we will but with so many beautiful updated and cheap hotels it's doughtful. Oh and I forgot the 3 port USB $28 charger in room, hopefully they leave it for next guests.... P.S. Bought a $11 pc. Of carrot cake out of a cool cake machine, got chocolate fudge?

First, I need to preface to say, we did not stay here during our stay in Vegas. We were only here for a show at the Comedy Cellar. But walking in, a lot of shops and restaurants in the casino area were closed. It was quiet. And the hallways and casino area was really dark. The signage leading to the Comedy Cellar was poor and we got lost trying to get there. It sits way back off the strip and didn't feel walk-able to anything.
