Ellis Island Casino & Hotel

I live just a few minutes from Ellis Island and used to go there often as a local. But the place has really gone downhill. Security is leaving for Tuscany because Ellis doesn’t pay them well. Chad at The Front Yard is an embarrassment to the industry, and none of the dealers smile. The vibe now feels like a bad Walmart.

It was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Their customer service was terrible. Antonio at the front desk was very unkind — his facial expression was cold, and it felt like he didn’t want to help me at all. I stayed at three different hotels in Vegas, and only Ellis didn’t offer me an early check-in. They even asked me to pay $20 for it. I understand the policy, but the staff’s attitude was not friendly at all.

The room was tiny, and the old AC was so loud that I couldn’t sleep well.

The entire hotel was under construction, and the outside of the building was also blocked off, making it very difficult to get into the parking lot.

The Strip is too far to walk from here — you’d definitely need a car. I recommend staying at Excalibur or The LINQ on the Strip instead, for a similar price.

Don’t ruin your trip just to save a few bucks!

Awesome food and had some reasonable prices! Great place to gamble and find excellent food. I was here for breakfast and gamble a little bit!!

We just visited the casino and are doing some construction currently so maybe worth another look in the future. To me this was pretty cramped. We visited after dark and walked to the Bellagio water show and back after our visit which was maybe a 15 min walk. if you need to burn off a drink or three I recommend that.

Hole in the wall right next to the main strip! Highly recommend over Fremont.

We will never go here again. The location is really good but that's about it. When we arrived they charged an extra fee which was around $40?! We had already paid online, and this fee made it so expensive to stay here. There were bugs in the room. They were on the walls and hidden in the towels.

Had dinner at their pub restaurant it was AMAZING!!!

The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is bc of the male front desk people. They are rude and absolutely refuse to let anyone check-in untill exactly 3 pm! Even if it’s 2:55 they still make you wait! No other clerks here do that just the males. It’s very frustrating and the fact that they are rude makes it infuriating! I vote they all get fired!

Other than that I love this place! Rooms are always clean and comfortable. I haven’t eaten at the restaurants but I do see a lot of people go in and come out with bags of food even if they aren’t staying here! I would’ve given 5 stars but those boys up front ruined that for the hotel.

I’d also like to add that when I do go to any hotel I always ask for a room close to the elevator or close to the door as I have Afib due to heart failure and rheumatoid arthritis. Every other hotel is very accommodating but not this one when those rude boys are up front! Two days in a row i asked for a room close to door and both days they put me literally right in the middle! The second day I was dragging my bags down the hall and I looked up and the clerk that put me there was walking down the hall and he ducked out so fast it was a joke! He knew exactly what he did and could t even look me in the eye! He should be ashamed of himself.

Karaoke was terrible. The host doesn’t know how to run a karaoke show. I recommend every other venue in Las Vegas BESIDES this one. 0 stars.

We are here for 5 days. I was actually a little surprised when I saw how nice the rooms were. I thought since it's a discount hotel it would like like it but it doesn't. The mattress for the bed is comfortable but the pillows are lumpy and small 👎. They remind me of lumpy bricks.

In the bathroom there is bathtub and shower and they provide shampoo and conditioner as well as soap for you for free.

I like how the hotel is a smoke-free environment. You have to walk outside across the parking lot though if you want to use their casino. The casino is not a smoke-free environment. The hotel is pretty close to the strip about an 8 minute walk. But if it's raining outside I advise you to take an Uber that's around $8.00 to $10.00 depending on where you want to go.

Love this place and always have fun. Especially at the craps table, fun fun fun.

The employees are not very well trained in their job s. And new different employees every week or month. We all used to like going there for the industry beer special and the military special. The promotions employees seems to just make up their own rules now.

Highly recommended for stay if you are planning to visit and see surroundings of strip, it’s near by strip about 5 minutes walk. Public transport is available on walking distance of 5 minutes. Their drinks are good in taste. Price is so affordable especially for this area. Highly recommended ❤️
